Yikes! I hope it's not as bad as it sounds.
I have been cringing all week from the number of celebrities announcing severe leg breaks. Ashley Judd suffered a "catastrophic" leg break in Congo, Brooke Shields broke her femur. This might be an undiscovered area of fear for me, because it's giving me the heebie jeebies.

He's forty-five, and has had a boatload of surgeries. His last one was December 2020. I honestly don't know if he can come back from this to tournament level golf.

Hasn’t he had multiple knee and back surgeries over the years, car crash multiple leg injuries added to that I can’t see him coming back from this one.
The last golf thing I notice was the father son stuff he did with his son, I hope for the sake of his kids he will recover ok, but I feel this is it for pro golf for him.

Fire captain just announced jaws of life were NOT needed. MSNBC saying he was awake and talking as they got him out.

The LA County Sheriff's Department (who were at the scene) specifically mentioned the jaws of life in their original tweet about the accident. Weird (but not surprising, given it's LASD) that they would make such a significant error in that statement. |

Jaws of life makes people think it's catastrophic, but it's a tool. Sometimes it is catastrophic but sometimes it's used for a simp,e extrication. The human is more important than the car, and the jaws of life are the easiest way.
However, Tiger is still recovering from back surgery, an arduous process at any time, much less for an athlete. With serious leg injuries requiring immediate surgery? On a middle aged man? Methinks this is the end of his golf career, unless he comes back for the seniors tour.
