However, Tiger is still recovering from back surgery, an arduous process at any time, much less for an athlete. With serious leg injuries requiring immediate surgery? On a middle aged man? Methinks this is the end of his golf career, unless he comes back for the seniors tour. Tiger Woods' former mistress Rachel Uchitel also expressed concern. It sounds like she still cares deeply for this man.

Hasn’t he had multiple knee and back surgeries over the years, car crash multiple leg injuries added to that I can’t see him coming back from this one. The last golf thing I notice was the father son stuff he did with his son, I hope for the sake of his kids he will recover ok, but I feel this is it for pro golf for him. His most recent back surgery was in December

Ashley Judd suffered a "catastrophic" leg break in Congo Her situation sounded horrible and I hope she fully recovers, but what the heck was she doing travelling to the DRC in the midst of a pandemic?

It sounds like she cares deeply about press attention. Was anyone really wondering about his former mistress's concern for him? I do agree that if this is a career ending injury, he's going to go through a lot of mental and emotional turmoil. Tiger is golf.

Statement via his TwitterI genuinely winced at the description of the surgeries needed to his leg. It’s going to be a tough recovery for him. Good tho to hear he is awake and responsive.

My mom had a similar injury to Tiger's. She ended up losing her leg below the knee. Open fractures can mean loss of blood supply and necrosis. I wouldn't be surprised if they are trying to save his leg at this point and they might not be able to. It took about two months before the doctors had a definitive answer that the blood supply in my mom's case was too severely compromised. I don't wish this outcome on anyone. Tiger is much younger and in superior physical condition. But based on what I've read it sounds very similar to my mom's treatment and I hope he has a better outcome. If I am understanding it correctly it might also be a situation where they are doing what they can to save his leg because he's an athlete. Trauma surgeons often have to make terrible amputation decisions in a small amount of time. The surgeons who set my mom's leg said they were only doing what they would have done if it was their mother on the operating table, but a different surgeon might have amputated right away. Harbor's an excellent hospital but I wouldn't be surprised if he were transferred to another hospital either in LA or the OC. I hope I am wrong and coming at this with a personal bias.

I thought the same thing about the possibility of Tiger losing his leg when I saw the diagram of the bone breaking through the skin. The risk of infection is high.
My medical degree is from the University of ER. I also hope I am wrong, but it looks like a very serious injury.
I’m just glad he was wearing his seatbelt and that his airbags deployed.

Speaking of the University of ER, Harbor was "Rampart" on Emergency!.
On topic, I have nothing.

I’m just glad he was wearing his seatbelt and that his airbags deployed. Does anyone know what make and model car he was driving? Looked like a midsize SUV. A few commentators pointed out that the seatbelt saved his life and that the cab of the vehicle was pretty much intact which is exactly how you want it to look after a major crash.

TheFail have an article about ... Hyundai's Genesis GV80 comes with 10 airbags, a forward-collision warning system, evasive steering technology and an interior camera that warns the driver if they fall asleep... ..that saved Tigers life
( middle bit bit copied and pasted from fail headline)
