Barry bonds got convicted of one count of obstruction, a mistrial has been declared on the other 3 counts. I wonder if the prosecution will retry him? I have no time or sympathy for steroid cheats like bonds. Yes I know more athletes than we ever will know about have probably abused steroids but to me it makes you a cheater plain and simple.

Whatever records he has set should be marked with an asterisk. I don't consider his record as the leader of career home runs to be valid, no matter what anyone says. Sorry. That season with Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa, and Barry Bonds all chasing 61? Total BS. I know that no one will go back and try to strip these records or awards from the players like Milli Vanilli were stripped of their Grammys however. By the way, I think more of these fools should be taken to task for (ab)using steroids. (*cough*Roger Clemens*cough*)

Dear Boston news media,
We're all sad that Terry Francona got fired, and I get that it's a big deal. Hell, I'll miss him too. But there is other stuff that's happening in the world that's slightly more important than a rich man having to find a new job. Please get the hell over it. Also? It IS partially his fault. Accept it and move on.
Dear Red Sox,
If you could continue sucking long enough that I might actually be able to afford to go to a game (seriously, I live in Boston and I haven't been to a game in over six years because it costs too much and the tickets go too quickly) that would be okay with me. I kind of miss the lovable losers of my youth.

Yesterday watching the Rangers/Rays (GO RAYS!) game, I may have cried a little when the showed who threw out the first pitch-it was Cooper Stone, the little boy who's dad died in July from falling over the railing at the ballpark. It was so sweet, and then they showed him sitting with the owner behind home plate. The Rangers have really treated that family well, although I still hope the Rays sweep them.

Congratulations to the Detroit Tigers on sending the NY Yankees packing in the ALDS. On to Texas to spank the Rangers in the ALCS.
Bless You, Boys!!!!!

Haven't been paying any attention to MLB. Just haven't had the stomach for it after the Braves debacle. I had no idea the Yanks/Tigers were still playing. Congratulations, Detroit!

As a Yankee fan, I begrudgingly salute the Tigers's victory yesterday. It hurts because the Yankees had numerous opportunities to take the lead, but A-Fraud, Teixera, and Swisher failed in the clutch.
The sad part is the Tigers that killed the Yanks wasn't Cabrera or Victor Martinez, but role players like Delmon Young and that Kelly dude.
It hurts.
