We're not even big baseball fans (neither of us has been to a game since before they demolished the old Busch Stadium), but when Mr. S. checked on the progress of the game right before bed, we couldn't tear ourselves away and ended up staying up way too late and watching the last three innings. Fantastic game.

I had a migraine and fell asleep at 8 pm until my mom woke me up by screaming her way through the bottom of the 9th, then watched the last two innings. So insane (Also, Sunny, you should get to the new ballpark, its awesome.)

I was pretty sure I was gonna wake up today and have it be like, mid August and all that amazing baseball never happened.

We were downtown last night--not down by the stadium, but downtown nonetheless, and it was so awesome. People screaming, spraying beer in the bar, the whole bit. The streets were NUTS, everyone was honking, running, slapping hands with strangers. I loves me a World Series victory! WOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What do y'all think about Tony LaRussa's retirement announcement? I've been wondering for a while, what with that horrible attack of shingles he had, if his health hasn't been suffering. I'm not particularly fond of the guy, but he's done amazing things for the Cards, so I wish him well.

I am a little nervous about what it means for the Cards, but I think he has perfect timing. Go out while you're on top instead of slumping away after some crappy 70-win season.
