Royals are in the playoffs for the first time in, well - a lifetime for a lot of people. And they are actually holding their own, granted only by pulling off the equivalent of a highwire act each time, but still. Go Royals!

Dodger fan here, but if the Dodgers bullpen self-destructs like I fully expect them to, the Royals can count on me to cheer them on to victory. And the best part is, the Dodgers and Royals colors are so similar, I could easily pull off being a Royals fan.

I still almost can't wrap my head around the (my!) Royals this season. The last time they played in October, I was 5 and asking "Daddy, what are those men doing?" in reference to seeing on TV the players pouring champagne on each others heads after winning the series.
Every game has been magical...it's almost like that one movie where there were angels assisting the players (hah!). And funny enough, for years the Royals have been playing the music from that movie whenever a Royals player hits a home run at the K. It was just hilariously ironic last night - can't imagine what it's been to have been at the game!

I'm pleased that the Royals and Orioles are playing in the ALCS, since my inner pessimist was expecting a Detroit/LA Angels matchup.
