Diehard Cards fan here, but I am loving watching the Royals. They remind me (in the best possible way) of little boys who are playing for the genuine joy and love of the game. I'll be rooting for them until the possibility of an I-70 Series. This postseason has been so much fun to watch. So much excitement, from extra innings to come from behind rallies.

This has been a pretty exciting World Series, and I don't even follow baseball. Go Royals!

My college friend from Kansas has lived in the UK for 30 years and he is just beside himself with joy at this World Series. He's posting like a fool on FB and staying up all night, and he's a university department director!

I am watching with the sound off, because: Joe Buck. Just, UGH. It's funny because their entire run, I've just been excited that they had made it as far as they have. Tonight, I'm a bundle of nerves. I would love for this Royals team to win. Time to take the crown! Now if they would just eek out some hits, run when they can, steal when they can... (this team has to keep the pressure high to win this thing). Okay back to chewing my fingernails. ETA: Welp. I wished, hoped, and prayed for a different outcome, but hey: the dream still came true. Well done, Royals, thanks for an amazing run

The bottom of the ninth was an incredible seven or so minutes. Mr Cho is the KC fan and he was disappointed but philosophical about it all.

I honestly thought KC would pull it off. It's what i love about baseball, no time limit, you still have hope as long as you have one more out.

Aww, that's a nice way to put it--that time issue was one thing that bothered me about baseball (although I think it's more irritating in football), but your explanation is more cosmic. Of course, with soccer, it's all the fate/doom/training/hope you can cram into 90 minutes.

God...the two Giants were still fumbling over the ball while Gordon was rounding third... The bar I was at was losing it's collective shit at that point. I think a win would've actually resulted in some cardiac arrests (and not rioting - you stay classy San Francisco).
Coulda...woulda...shoulda....
Don't get me started on the Joe Buck sucking off Mad Bummy every two seconds (and the fact that he had a really generous strike zone to hit while the KC pitcher's was not so). Fox did a replay once that showed numerous pitches called strikes that were outside of "the box". I don't understand why the hell there is even an ump behind home plate. We have the technology to stick a camera and radar gun back there, no need to leave it to human error/bias anymore.
Urgh...I think the biggest killer is that I don't believe KC will be back anytime soon. We blew 29 years of saved up luck on one run and fucked it up.

Gah! I am so pumped for the Jays being in the playoffs. I can't believe it has been 22 years! Here's hoping they win game 4 tomorrow!
