So insane! I got home from work when the 7th inning was beginning. I have never seen anything like that. Happy that I don't live downtown though. I'm sure the celebrations will be nuts.

I can't believe the next game is tomorrow! I need recovery time. I didn't realize until this morning that there were fans throwing garbage on the field. I hate stuff like that and it makes me cringe as a fan. On a happier note, this made me smile: Mini Jose Bautista! |

At least it's a night game so more people can watch the whole thing. I usually feel bad for the pitcher who gives up the winning run, that's gotta hurt. But Dyson whining about Bautista not having respect for the game because he flipped his bat is sour grapes to the nth degree.
The garbage throwing was really bad! People in the upper deck were tossing beer cans and one of them hit a baby in the lower area. They showed the aftermath on tv where both the Mom and baby were in tears. Just awful. Although I did roll my eyes at all these Americans on Twitter who were shocked that Canadians were not acting politely. Canadian sports fans can be just as obnoxious as Americans. See the riots in Vancouver when the Canucks lost the Stanley Cup. Nobody knew how obnoxious Toronto fans* could be because our teams never make it deep in the playoffs. If the Leafs ever make a serious run for the Stanley Cup I'm moving out of the city until it's over.
I'm hoping the ALCS is just as exciting but a little less controversial.
*only a small portion. Most Toronto fans have an appropriate level of enthusiasm.

The beer can didn't actually hit the baby, it just sprayed beer all over him/her. Still gross behaviour, but the baby wasn't hurt. It was bad sport behaviour by a very small minority and 34 people were thrown out. The guy who threw the beer that soaked the baby was charged, his name released, and now he'll always be "that" guy. Hopefully, others will learn to restrain themselves over a perceived bad call.
Thankfully, that call had no bearing on the outcome of the game or there'd be no end to it.
I'll end with "Go Jays, go!"
