As others have said do not mess with Lucretia! That last scene where she told Iltyhia that her screwing Spartacus and killing Licina would be their little secret was just downright creepy. For now, Iltyhia is completely at Lucretia's mercy and they both know it. It will be interesting to see how their relationship will be affected by all this. Will Iltyhia truly think she and Lucretia are true friends or will start plotting revenge?
Batiatus has got to be the biggest idiot there if for not connecting the dots when it comes to Lucretia and Crixus. Though it would be interesting if he did know what was going on and was ignoring it for whatever reason.
Mira, the new slave girl, is supposedly a love interest for Spartacus. Well, she had more chemistry with Andy Whitfield than the actress that played Sura. Man, being a female slave had to the worst position. It seems male slaves were treated with a bit more respect than the women.

I love how the tables are turned now. Ilythia had the power in the "friendship" before and I always wondered when that would change.
ETA: Ok. So things have changed again. She's cracked. However, I always knew Varro's days were numbered./spoiler

Aw, Party Favors was a rough episode to watch. I hate Ilythia, althogh I give kudos to the actress playing her nastiness to the hilt.

Gah! There were rumors that Varro wasn't long for this world but dear God I didn't expect him to go out like that! I find myself wishing very nasty things on Ilythia! I'm already anticipating her comeuppance!
I wonder how this will affect gladiators like Crixus who go on and on about the joys of the gladiator brotherhood. Now, they see that's just a load of bs. I think things like this are the seeds to the rebellion.
Naevia is so freaking screwed.

So freaking sick of flashbacks and ghosty whisperings. Ugh.
But I love how tricksy everyone seemed to be in this epi.

Batiatus is such a great bad guy! And much smarter than I originally gave him credit for. I had stated previously it would be a great twist if it turned out he knew about Lucretia's dalliances with Crixus this whole time! Sure enough he did! Batiatus stated Solonius isn't the first to have died for underestimating him. Man, how many people has Batiatus had killed?!
Ok, Glaber had little trouble believing Ilithyia killed Licina. I mean, she said he knew she wasn't capable of doing that and he looked at her for a second then BAM! What has Ilithyia done to make it easy for him to believe her capable of murder? Also, the shot of Ilithyia of turning around to look at Batty and Lucretia after Haldir left her was just awesome.
Crixus is a moron. Yep, you definitely ruined Naevia and you. I must admit I'm shocked Lucretia didn't kill Naevia after she found about her screwing Crixus. Instead she slashes off her hair and beats her. LOVE that Naevia told Doctore that Batty had Barca killed.
This episode did an awesome job of setting up the slave rebellion because many of the main players have reasons to rebel. Spartacus, Crixus, and Doctore all want revenge for someone they care about. The others now see what a crock the whole "brotherhood" thing is and everyone else will go along with it to prevent getting themselves killed. Asher is probably the one one that will remain loyal to Batty and I really hope Batty will suffer because of it.

I can't believe how good this show is. I've been saying that for a few episodes now, but I really can't remember the last time I watched a show that set up an absolutely unmissable season finale the way Spartacus has done. Several shots in the episode 13 preview look so intriguing. But based on what offers the greatest story potential for season two, my bets are on Lucretia and Ilithyia escaping to scheme in Rome and at least one of Batiatus and Ashur dying to give the viewers a sense of payback. I loved the scene where the truth about Licinia was revealed. I didn't find Glaber impressive in his first episodes, but now I think he could become interesting. Ilithyia couldn't fool him. And Batiatus, that Magnificent Bastard! Also, the shot of Ilithyia of turning around to look at Batty and Lucretia after Haldir left her was just awesome. Yes! Stuck in the House of Hell with Batiatus, Lucretia and Ashur. Crixus has been an idiot, but the final scene got to me even though I'm not a huge shipper. I've been expecting Naevia to die to give Crixus his motivation. This works too. He's not just out for revenge, he's fighting for the chance to find and free Naevia. I wonder if Lucretia had Naevia sold and not killed so that she'd live in misery or because she still had some fondness for her.

I know! The pilot was just so awful! It's amazing how the show rebounded and truly came into it's own. In many ways the show is a primetime soap but it's a good primetime soap. The acting is actually pretty decent, the writing has dramatically improved, and lots of sex and blood!
The promo is interesting. For those that have better eyes who is the woman that Spartacus is about to get it on with in the promo? I can't decide if it's Mira (where did the change of heart come from?) or is it Auriela, Varro's widow (that would be weird)?
I definitely agree Lucretia and Ilithyia will escape the revolt. I don't see the writers killing Batty off so soon. He's needed to give Lucretia a connection to the slave revolt. Asher is probably toast though. I really hope Glaber is a regular next season. You know he's going to be pissed that the house he just gave patronage to has a full fledged slave rebellion happening! He'll want to put it down to just get his honor back.
Oh don't get me wrong, I definitely felt awful for both of them. I just still think Crixus is a moron.
That's a very good question. Lucretia actually seemed hurt that Naevia betrayed her. Lucretia seemed to have a certain respect for Naevia. She seemed sincerely upset for Naevia when she found out Batty ordered Naevia to sleep with Asher. Perhaps it's a mixture of both. She has a certain fondness for Naevia so she couldn't bring herself to kill her and she wants to Naevia to suffer.
