Given how it took FOREVER to stop seeing Sura everywhere even after she died, I'm sure we haven't seen the last of Naevia.
I'd hate for Ashur to die. Simply because I think he's so eeevil and plays the part so perfectly, he makes the show interesting for me. He's like Iago.

It occurs to me that Naevia being taken away could end up bonding Crixus and Spartacus. If nothing else it should cause them to put their differences aside. Spartacus and Crixus now have something in common. Both had the woman they love coldly ripped away from them by Romans. Finally, Crixus understands how Spartacus felt when he first arrived. Crixus is now the position Spartacus once was in. He wants to be reunited with the woman he loves as soon as possible. Spartacus offers that opportunity and Crixus will take it.

The promo is interesting. For those that have better eyes who is the woman that Spartacus is about to get it on with in the promo? I can't decide if it's Mira (where did the change of heart come from?) or is it Auriela, Varro's widow (that would be weird)? It's Mira. Maybe she persuades him with a "We could both die tomorrow" kind of talk. Batiatus is going to be so thoroughly disgraced that, even as clever as he is, I don't see how he could find people willing to support him in any way. Lucretia is more likely to only be tainted by association, not directly blamed. But I don't know what her pregnancy will lead to. Maybe she'll miscarry and be extra vengeful? Or Crixus will let her escape because of the pregnancy, and she'll be scheming with added fury to ensure that whatever happens to her husband her child won't be penniless. In general, I think this could work as a three season series. In the next one things would build up to Spartacus defeating Glaber with Crassus hanging around in the background, and the third would be about Crassus as the main villain and the end of the rebellion. Did Naevia say in one early episode that she was born there? So Lucretia would at the very least have seen her around ever since she married Batiatus, and perhaps young Naevia was her personal maid from the start. Now I wish there had been a couple of scenes of Lucretia and Naevia by themselves, like we've seen Batiatus and Spartacus talking, to give us a better sense of their relationship. Lucretia did seem protective and not just insulted in an impersonal manner when Ashur got to sleep with Naevia. Given how much misery the characters have had and will have to endure I do hope Crixus finds Naevia at some point and that it's not the Spartacus/Sura kind of reunion.

Apparently, Starz is planning a miniseries prequel to tie us over while Andy battles cancer. That could be interesting. My guess is the prequel will focus on life at the ludus before Spartacus arrived. The show could focus on things like Crixus's rise to champion and his relationship with Lucretia, how Doctore came to earn his position at the ludus, Asher's stint as a gladiator, and hey maybe we can get some scenes with Naevia and Lucretia. Lucy blogged not long ago that the show would be returning to filming in September. That could be a guesstimate on her part but hopefully it means Andy is responding well to treatment. The actress that plays Naevia also recently blogged that she visited Andy and he was upbeat and looked well. Ahhh thanks! Yeah, I suppose she could pull the whole, "We could die! Give me what I want!" talk. He did say he wouldn't sleep with an unwilling woman. I guess Mira shows she's more than willing. I believe that's what she told Crixus.

I'm one of the few who really enjoyed the pilot, but I do agree it's been getting better and better. Nothing has been *quite* as shocking as Ilythia murdering Licinia (brrrrr) to me, but I have enjoyed every episode (except 2, it was a bit too expository for my tastes).
I thought Lucretia was going to cut off Naevia's face, mostly because I recently watched Rome and that was a threat at one point, so I was very relieved that she just cut off her hair!
I am really excited to see how everything clashes together in the finale next week.

They're both evil schemers. Ashur, and Ilythia too, are characters I love to hate, so they better be sticking around. On a superficial note, everyone on this show is super good looking. The actress who plays Mira is just stunning.

I was relieved to see Naevia alive at the end as well. Lucretia looked like she was angry enough to kill over Crixus.
I like the idea noted upthread of a three-season series. Beyond that I'm not sure what else they can do with it. Although I imagine they'd try to stretch it out for syndicatio at five years...

I read the spoilers over at TWOP. Should be one hell of an episode.
