I watched her 60 Minutes interview and the story about the Oscar poster in front of her treadmill was brought up again. She has never said that she wants to be a great actress. She just wants an Oscar. Does she not realise how gross that sounds, even if it's true? Then she mentioned that she wants to model herself after Barbra Streisand. I don't see this happening. I honestly don't believe Beyonce has enough depth or interest in things beyond her fame bubble to be a truly great artist.
She just seems so dull. I wonder what she and Jay-Z talk about?
And with or without an accent she just sounds slow-witted.

As a huge Streisand fan, I wonder exactly what she means? She wants to conquer the stage, films and the music business? IMO, she can eliminate the acting field from that equation. As far as the music side, to this day I still love to sing along with most of Streisand's stuff from the classic The Way We Were to the chessy disco tune No More Tears, to the schmaltzy Papa, Can You Hear Me. Decades from now will anyone be singing Halo or Single Ladies?

I generally think she is humble. But her arrogance about wanting an Oscar is interesting. I am surprised someone hasn't told her to stfu about it.

I cannot believe I am going to write something positive about Beyonce, but here goes. I loathed her for a long time, but last year she earned my respect for the way she handled the situation with Rihanna. This could be false, but I remember reading here and other places that Jay-Z and she worked privately and really hard to support Rihanna and get her to leave Chris, and for that Beyonce's got me as a fan now. She is all of the things discussed above, but I cannot help myself now -- I like her. That said, I still like the snark!

I really don't think Beyonce is that bad. What I don't like is the hype that she is the greatest singer ever. However, people I work with have seen her on stage and say she is fantastic.
What I like about her is how she handled her marriage to Jay-Z. Most celebrities these days pimp out their pictures to Life and Style or People Magazine and I appreciate that they didn't do that.

I was not clutchin' ma pearls over Kanye's stage crash at all, but loathe that Beyonce explained it away as him being "so passionate about sticking up for art".
On a musical note, I can't believe "Single Ladies" won a song-writing Grammy. Talk about a song that was all about the video. The song itself relies on the extremely busy production and mixing, is lyrically and thematically confused and as a melody surprisingly drab.
And I hope Gwyneth breaks up with her, like she did with Winona, by, like, stealing one of her scripts earmarked for her future Oscar winning role, or stealing one of her songs she "wrote" and singing it on a soundtrack, and causes the Carter-Martin families love-in to implode.

Nope. Not even for laughs. I think Halo has all the makings of a classic love song myself.

I hate Halo. So much so that I deliberately left it off when burning the Hope for Haiti album off iTunes.
