Thanks for bringing this up!
I am loving this season. I even watched last night's ep again after it aired. The chemistry between Timothy & Natalie is amazing. I'm so happy they are back together. That final scene with them...whoa.
Gary is a tool. He was a tool last year and absolutely nothing has changed. When he was talking about Winona, like she was some brain dead imbecile that would fall for his snake oil salesman bullshit, I wanted to bitchslap him into next week.
I love all of Raylan's team. They are a good bunch and yay to the writers for giving them equal airtime.
I'm all for Boyd & Ava. Anything that'll keep her away from Raylan. Also...I think Boyd would be a better husband to Ava. Walter Goggins is amazing. And next week, my favorite Stooges is back to crack me up with his ineptness.
Mags scares me too. She was so calm while explaining to Loretta's dad how she'd killed him. Then sending those 2 morons out to put him in one of the mines w/ lime sprinkled on for good measure. Wow. Cold-blooded. I'm worried about Loretta. She's too smart for her own good. She knows something is up.

Mags is totally terrifying. Last night during the scene where she gave Loretta the cider (and kept giving her more) I was holding my breath because I half-expected the kid to keel over like her dad.
But yeah - Loretta knows something is up. Then she's gonna have to go all Winter's Bone on their asses.

I know! Really, Gary had me wondering if he really knows Winona at all. She doesn't strike me as one that is easily manipulated and she certainly isn't weak minded. What really irks me is Gary isn't determined to get Winona back because he loves her. My impression is he just doesn't want Raylan to win. It was probably quite an ego boost for Gary, who really isn't attractive or charming, Winona, an attractive woman, to leave Raylan, a good looking smooth guy, for him. He just can't handle Winona going back to the smooth talking attractive guy. I'm not saying he never loved Winona but this strikes me more about winning the competition than wanting to be with the woman he loves.
I do think Raylan and Winona will end up splitting up for awhile (there's no way the show will have Raylan happy in his personal life so soon) but my hope is she doesn't go back to Gary. Gary would probably interpret a split to mean Winona is coming back to him. It would be quite satisfying if Winona told him, "What are you so happy about? I don't want you either!"

Mags is an evil, psychotic woman! OMG! I was watching her one & only scene through my fingers.
I have to applaud the actress playing Loretta. She is really good in the role and can convey so much with a look. She's way too smart to believe Mags' story about her father, which makes her a threat to Mags. I know she's probably hesitant to trust Raylan because the men she's known have been untrustworthy and worthless.
I jumped when the reverend got the drop on Raylan & tasered him, but I LOL when Raylan turned the tables on him & zapped those nuts. Too funny.
Can we go ahead and give Wally Goggins an Emmy for supporting actor? He has sold me on Boyd's redemption. Last year, I was rightfully skeptical, but this year...I believe him. He's trying. He wants it so badly. I had no problem with him taking the action he did against those miners. If road rash didn't convince the guy to steer clear of him, nothing would have.
I love this show!

I like this entire cast. Goggins and Olyphant are on a great roll professionally (The Shield & Deadwood respectively). Mags is cuckoo but utterly mesmerizing, like great evil characters should be. The way everyone speaks--particularly Loretta last night-- reminds me a lot of Daniel Woodrell's characters (Winter's Bone, et al).

Yay we finally have Boyd and Raylan together for a legitimate reason. Now that he's working for the mining lady we should some more awesome moments between them.
Olyphant was extra awesome last night with all of his reactions to Winona's stupidity.
I love this show

I was amazed at Winona's stupidity. It was just unreal that she didn't think before stealing that money. I'm so happy Boyd & Raylan are back together. I cracked up when Boyd offered to show Raylan where he'd place a bomb. I do not like the mine executive. I thought she was going to eat Raylan. Girlfriend had a twinkle in her eye that scared me.

OMlG, Boyd sitting in that awful suit just made me giggle every. time. He looked at Raylan like "Hey brother, don't ask me, I dunno what's happenin here either..." Winona was incredibly dumb in this episode, although in her defense, she probably could've righted the wrong if the robbery hadn't gone down. When she said "Are you mad?" like she was a 9 yr old who broke a vase, and Raylan replied he wasn't hitting her over the head with a phone book I burst out laughing. The dialogue is biting and realistic. I am so into this show. And for whatever reason, I could watch Tim Olyphant walk all day. His gait just hypnotizes me. Wasn't he an olympic class swimmer or something before acting? Clearly I'm thinking of several things while watching these episodes....

Is that what it is? He also has a slightly uneven walk, it's very much specific to him, and it's awesome. IMDB even notes his "unusual posture" as a trademark! He really does embody a lawman in an awesome way. I don't think there's anything wrong with finding a niche (he was a sheriff in The Crazies, too, and the only reason I've watched that movie twice.) When I get some cash together, the Deadwood boxed set is totally on my list.
