there are 3 I can think of: Apollo 19, the found footage horror film about monsters on the Moon, Moon with Sam Rockwell, and that upcoming George Clooney / Sandra Bullock movie that was supposed to come out at Christmas, but was pushed back.

Okay, this kept me awake last night:
There's a young girl having dinner with her family. Dad has upset some bad people and they break into the house and set the dad on fire, in front of everyone. I'm pretty sure this is a flashback/maybe an explanation of why the girl turned out like she did. I think she is telling this story years later. I've got a feeling it's a kind of Tarantino-type film, or maybe a comic book adaptation, but I could be wrong. I have googled everything I can think of, and it's driving me nuts - please help!

It's Wanted, and the Little girl grew up to be an assassin (Angelina Jolie).

Thank you so much!!
Also, this made me look up the film, and reminded me of how much I laughed at the Loom of Fate. Hilarious!!

It's one of my favorite movies! I played the FX version last night for friends, and even with the PG version FX showed, they all spilled out 20 minutes into the movie, and it was only 9 o:clock. One of the GUYS said he liked movies with sharp witty dialog. This movie has this...and sharp witty action screens as well! Oh well, I will have to stand as the lone appreciator of this film.

Don't worry; I have watched the remake of Fright Night five times in the last two weeks. For some reason, I can't get enough of David Tennant in leather pants. I also love Tank Girl. Feel better now??

I have one. It's a movie made in the 1990s about a woman who is either a serial killer, or accidently kills someone in self-defense and is prosecuted for it. It starts out with a giant closeup of this woman's toe as she is applying nail polish to it in a moviing car (her foot is propped up on the dashboard.) She is with her boyfriend and they both are poor, trailer trash. The car then pulls up into a motel on the outskirts of Seattle (the motel is a real one, somewhere in Georgetown, I know the location.) All this takes place in the first 10 minutes. For some reason Dana Delaney strikes me as the actor who plays the woman, but maybe not. Don't know the name of the movie! Can anyone help me?

Could this be Kalifornia with Brad Pitt, Juliette Lewis, and the similarly alliterative-named David Duchovney? I haven't seen it in years, but it popped into my head with your images.

This is a total, total longshot, and I think I might have posted about it before, but here goes:
Might be a tv movie I saw a fragment of it on tv ca. 1981-1983 There was a scene where someone was wearing an ethnographic-type mask (probably NW Coast Native American, but maybe not) underwater, possibly in a dream or horror sequence.
