I tried, tried, tried to like Lincoln. But no go. The solid supporting cast, decent but awkward script and imbalanced plotting made it only meh to me. And yet another performance by Daniel Day Lewis that I thought was more overrated than masterful. Even James Spader couldn't get me to like it.

I had no idea James Spader is in Lincoln. I actually kind of want to see it now, as I generally have an aversion to critically acclaimed masterpieces.

Spader's performance was arguably as good as DDL's. #sacrilege
I've been hoping for a while that he would get back into movies.

I honestly don't remember James Spader in Lincoln. Huh.
I thought DDL was great in it, but I thought the movie itself was a weirdly-paced drag. I also don't get all the praise Tommy Lee Jones got. I felt like I was watching Tommy Lee Jones in a period costume. There's a scene where Mary Todd Lincoln sasses him, and there's a closeup shot of his "reaction." But there is no reaction! He's just staring blankly at her. I saw it on the big screen, and there was nothing. No shifts in the eye, no movement on the face. He's just staring back at her. This was basically his entire performance, with some occasional yelling. Yeah. I was not impressed.

The Batman movies with Christian Bale put me to sleep. I think the only Batman movie I really enjoyed was the first with Jack Nicholson as the Joker.

Me too! My husband is a huge Batman fan, so I really tried to like those movies, but .... no. The Marvel movies are just more fun. Like Thor. Drool.

Ahhhh, classic Batman. (Well, in film anyway.) Michael Keaton at his best.

I'm sure I've posted this somewhere on this board at some point (maybe True Confessions?), but here it is: Star Wars. Poorly written dreck. George Lucas is a really nice man with an incredible imagination and talent, but I hate those movies with a passion.

Interview With a Vampire no, just no. Brad Pitt's freaking out while his house is on fire remains one of the most unintentionally hilarious scenes in movie history, for me.
