Here's a list of the most played films in our house over the last couple of years. The best films of the decade? probably not according to most.
Elf The Lord of the Rings Trilogy Harry Potter Shaun of the Dead Hot Fuzz The Ring The Grudge Zoolander Shanghai Noon Love Actually Bridget Jones's Diary School of Rock Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy 40 Year old Virgin

I like so many of your pics! I have to add 2 that I adore, and they may get me mocked, but I thought they really good movies that to this day I watch over and over.
The Notebook- It had the potential to be so cheesy, but Rachel M. and Ryan G. really sold the love story between Ally and Noah. Their acting was very, very good, and the pretty costumes, great locations, and everything involved in this film really makes it stand out to myself and many people. Who can forget the beautiful scene with the swans, or the kiss under the rain?!?
Peter Pan- As a big lover of this classic story, I was very hesitant about how they would handle this adaptation, since I thought nothing would be able to top Hook, and I was happily blown away by this movie. Not only were they very faithful to the original story, everything about this movie was breathtaking. The sets, costumes, directing, writing, but especially the acting. I have never really shipped two kids, but I can't deny that the actress playing Wendy and the actor playing Peter had chemistry in spades.

Agree with a lot of the choices so far, but I would have to include The Royal Tennenbaums. Also: No Country for Old MenVolverHotel RwandaThere Will Be BloodLetters from Iwo Jima (out of all of Eastwood's recent films, this was my favorite) Children of MenLost in TranslationEternal Sunshine of the Spotless MindGosford ParkHonorable Mentions: Master and Commander Kill Bill Vols. 1&2 A History of Violence The Prestige The Dark Knight Iron Man I would probably also add Ocean's 11 just for sheer popcorn entertainment value. We'll just forget about all those annoying Julia Roberts scenes

Ever since they came out, we watch Love Actually and The Family Stone every Christmas so I'd have to count those two in my favourites for the decade as well.
Hotel Rwanda was excellent but it's one of those movies like Schindler's List that I can't watch more than once. Too depressing.

Me too. Same thing with Last King of Scotland.
It's hard to think back over the decade, because I totally can't remember what was released when.
Most people have mentioned what I would list. I would especially second Lost in Translation, Volver (Penelope Cruz was so luminous in that movie), Brokeback Mountain and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
I would only add Pan's Labyrinth and maybe Let the Right One In because those both really stuck with me.
The LOTR trilogy stand out because of their sheer scope. Ironman and The Dark Knight get special mention for what they've done for the superhero movie genre. And the Bourne trilogy gets extra points for being well-done across the board, with no dip in quality (if anything, they got better).
The Incredibles and Wall-e and Spirited Away are stand-outs in the animation category for me.
Then for feel-good, guilty pleasure stuff, it's Slumdog Millionaire and Pride & Prejudice. Yes, the Keira Knightley version. Because I liked Matthew MacFadyen's Mr. Darcy better than Colin Firth's (blasphemy, I know).

My favourites, in no particular order: The Lord of the Rings trilogy (it's like one movie, right, but Fellowship is probably my favourite part) Galaxy QuestMoon (I just saw it and loved it so much... instant classic imo) Gladiator (yeah, I know it has flaws, but I think it's a fantastic movie even though Russell Crowe went downhill from there... ) Kingdom of Heaven Director's Cut (theatrical cut is a travesty) Finding Nemo (I love Pixar, but this is my favourite of theirs) Traffic (mainly because I love Benicio and think his parts of the movie are amazing) Star Trek 2009 (a perfect big-screen sci-fi movie) Pan's LabyrinthSin CityI also love a lot of the other movies picked here, but these 10 movies are ones that I've already watched multiple times and know I'll watch again.

So many mentioned that I totally agree with and forgot about; Pan's Labyrinth, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Gosford Park, The Ring
What about Up? I really loved that.

I meant to mention that one too. That is how you take a franchise that was starting to get creaky and completely reboot it.
