I'm reviving this thread from one that was opened only about a month ago at The Other. I love dancing in movies especially the old ones and big choreographed numbers. What are your favourites?

Oh I love movies with big dancing sequences no matter how crappy the movie is. This is why I love Center Stage and Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights. Well mostly I love Havana Nights for Diego Luna... I also love the tango scene in Scent of a Woman.

I really enjoyed the Thriller dance number from 13 Going on 30.
I know, I know. I'll show myself out.

It may be obscure, but I adore the barn raising dance-off scene from Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. The slower "Lonesome" (can't recall the proper title) ballet with saws and axes is great, too.
Even my macho brother loves that movie, because dancing with lumber and hardware is cool!

I'll be leaving with you, Door - I love the "Thriller" dance sequence. Jennifer Garner just completely dorks out for it and Mark Ruffalo even joins in.

I liked the "Thriller" dance scene too, even if it was really unbelievable (but that's what dance sequences are all about, right?). Plus, Mark Ruffalo was so cute at looking embarrassed but secretly enjoying it.

ITA Mr. Gracie even likes it although he does laugh at Howard Keel's red hair.
However, I'll see your Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and raise you anything Gene Kelly touched...with the possible exception of Xanadu.
I just saw Brigadoon again this week. Just amazing. Also, the whole "Gotta Dance" sequence from Singin' in the Rain

Just a few words for y'all:
"I'm sexy! I'm cute! I'm popular to boot!"
Every dance/cheer bit from Bring It On rocks my world!

The end dance in Dirty Dancing. Loved it. Also the dry humping dancing earlier in the movie when Baby goes up to the staff party, with her watermelons.
