Speaking of Bob Fosse, his "From This Moment On" dance with Carol Haney in Kiss Me Kate is amazing and probably the best part of that movie.
Mmmm...Will Kemp...me likey. ;D I remember seeing him in Bourne's Cinderella a few years back. So pretty.
I adore their pasted-on, over-eager smiles and outstretched-begging-for-applause-arms at the end of the number.

Heck yes, Napoleon Dynamite rules this thread. My agency has an annual fundraiser that is like, comedy acts and stuff, and one of my youth group kids did Napoleon's dance for his skit. He won 2nd place, too. ;D I always liked the little scene between Joan Cusak and some girl in Sixteen Candles, where they are just bending back and forth over each other on the dance floor. It's one of those scenes where you really have to watch it to appreciate how funny it is, but their expressions are priceless! Mr. ladymadonna swears by the old standby, Flashdance.

The Nicholas Brothers, looking wonderful in their tuxes and tails, have this amazing, and for me, unforgettable dance number near the end of the movie, Stormy Weather.

I have 2 particular favorites:
1. Dancing in the Dark with Fred Astaire and Cyd Charisse from The Band Wagon. A simple setting, walking in the park, Cyd wears a plain skirt and blouse, music is lovely and lyrical. I love this dance.
2. Cheek to Cheek with Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers from Top Hat. Ginger in that FEATHER DRESS! Fred in tails. And music by Cole Porter. Sublime.
And an honorable mention to Cyd Charise in her solo dance when she dresses in those Silk Stockings.
Sigh.

Christian Slater's shirtless dance scene in Kuffs always gets my juices flowing.
The scene in Great Expectations (1998) where Ethan Hawke comes into the restaruant and grabs Gywneth Paltrow and takes her onto the dance floor where they sullenly dance for a second before going off to kiss in the rain, then off they go to make mad passionate love. That movie might've not done Dickens justice, but it sure titilated the senses with the music, the production design, and the sensuality. And this was back in the 90s before Ethan and Gwyneth got all uglified like they are now.

The two great Spielberg dance sequences in 1941 (the only good thing about that movie) and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.

I love the Grand Central Station waltz in The Fisher King. It's just so lovely and completely fitting.
Christopher Walken has a fantastic soft shoe in Pennies From Heaven. That man can dance. IIRC, it's a striptease.
And while it's not a dance sequence, Brad Pitt's little dance in the hallway in Fight Club never fails to make me laugh.

The Nicholas Brothers pretty much own this thread. They've got another sequence in "Flying Down To Rio" ***I remember correctly that is heartstopping. "Make 'Em Laugh" and "Good Morning" from 'Singing in the Rain' are impressive. I love the dance sequences from the old movies because so many are done with minimal editing. "Good Morning" has something like 2 or 3 cuts. *** It's actually "Down Argentine Way".

It sure has been a while, but I finally got around to re-visiting this thread. And I finally got to enjoy that Nicholas Brothers, Stormy Weather dance sequence again, thanks to youtube. It's been quite a few years since the first and only time I ever it. It still WOWS me. *off to youtube for more NB performances before going back to page 1 of this thread to start making that list of other must-sees.*
