Fantasy Casting

Question: If you could recast a movie, which replacement actors would you pick? For example, my remake of The Witches of Eastwick would have Kate Winslet, Shoreh Aghdashloo, Naomi Watts & George Clooney in the Susan Sarandon, Cher, Michelle Pfeiffer & Jack Nicholson roles.

I guess the guy who plays him is OK, but I always thought Ian Holm would make an awesome Fudge in the Harry Potter movies.

While reading Harry Potter: CoS, I always envisioned Owen Wilson as Gilderoy Lockhart. To me he is the embodiment of a self-important and slick pin-up boy. Kenneth Branagh did a fine job in the movie, but Owen would have really brought out the skeeviness.

I would completely recast the older generation of Harry Potter. Clive Owen as Snape, Jude Law as Sirius, Ewan McGregor as Lupin and Tim Roth as Pettigrew. I'd also give them a bigger story line, like in the books, but that's another thread.

In the live action Rocky & Bullwinkle, Boris and Natasha should have been played by Danny Devito and Bebe Neuwirth, with Christopher Lloyd as Fearless Leader.

For the Starsky & Hutch movie, I would've cast L&O:SVU's Christopher Meloni & The Punisher's Thomas Jane in the leads. Then the HoYay would've been off the charts!

"Cold Mountain": replace Jude Law with Viggo Mortensen.

Replace Emma Thompson with Tracey Ullman in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban because I know Tracey would have rocked that role (and left Emma to play something else just as great...)

And since we're recasting all of HP let's go with Patrick Stewart as Dumbledore instead of Richard Harris and Michael Gambon. Much easier to make him look younger or older besides being a kick ass actor.

Oooh, best movie thread idea ever. I would give anything in this known universe to recast the 1989 version of Pet Semetary with Jeff Daniels as Louis Creed. The multiple times I read the book before seeing the movie, he is always the actor I pictured playing that character. He would have just been so perfect at capturing the earnest, wholesome qualities the good doctor of King's novel was supposed to possess. Plus, I've forever had a weird crush on him I can't explain.

I know the movie isn't even out ye, but I wish that Milla Jovovich was playing Aeon Flux instead of Charlize Theron. Milla looks exactly like the cartoon, and I think she could have pulled off the physical stuff as well.
