Ok, I'm an geeky literature loving, English teacher (among other things), but pretty much most of the scenes in Dead Poets Soceity where Robin Williams is teaching makes me want to cheer. I particularly love the Carpe Diem scene at the beginning, and where they stand on the desks at the end.

Oh, me too. Though I am always cheering as tears stream down my face. O Captain, my Captain!

There's no "I Know I should Laugh, But . . ." thread, so I guess this fits in here: I bought Reefer Madness: the Movie Musical, and every time Mary Lane is rescued from the Devil, the chains fall off her hands, and she goes up to heaven, I get a little teary-eyed. And then when she gets to heaven and runs to Jesus, and he lifts her up over his head? Oh, so sweet. And I'm sitting there with tears in my eyes going, "YES! YES!"
I'm not missing the point of the movie, I swear, but I think they did some of the parody a little too well.

From that gay-cowboy-flick-slash-crowd-pleaser (wow, sentences I never thought I'd type for a thousand, Alex), Brokeback Mountain, the entire audience broke into applause after the dinner scene in the latter half in which Jack Twist finally tells off his asshole, emasculating father-in-law who already has directly gone against his and his wife's wishes twice in this scene alone with a "Sit down, you son-of-a-bitch!" Everyone was just filled with glee at that moment exploding from what you had seen built up and Jake gave you everything you wanted (mmmmm.... ). Amen to that! >> Jack's father-in-law is a complete jackass (no pun intended) who deserved every word of that smackdown. << As for the Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical scene, pardon my pickiness, but since it debuted on TV, I expected to see it in the " TV Moments That Make You Cheer" thread.

Most recently, in Walk the Line, the scene that has Mama Maybelle brandished a rifle.

In Tombstone, when Johnny Ringo is waiting for Wyatt and Doc Holiday comes out of the shadow saying, "I'm your huckleberry," just gives me chills, I love it so much.
One of my favorite movie moments is actually from Major League, at the end when Charlie Sheen comes out and the stadium explodes, playing "Wild Thing."
In Kung Fu Hustle, when the landlady does the lion's roar to the assassins, that made me cheer and crack up at the same time.

This is so embarrassing, but ... the end of Mulan when the emperor bows to her and then EVERYONE bows to her... I LOVE that. It usually makes me cry and then I feel so manipulated. Sigh. Love Mulan.
At the end of The Sound of Music when the nuns tell Mother Superior they have sinned, and show her the car parts they took off the nazis cars. I love that one of the nuns who did it is the snotty nun who couldn't stand Maria. I may need to watch this movie again tomorrow. It's been about six months. It's time.

Oh I love that part! I also like in the end when Mulan brings the sword to her father and he says something about the greatest gift in the all the world is having her for a daughter. So manipulative. And I eat it right up!
