I didn't realize it was Luciano nailing Jimmy's mom until Rothstein called him. There's so many characters already.
I loved Margaret's takedown of Lucy followed by flouncing out of the shop and quitting. That was a great scene. I think if anyone deserves an Emmy nod for this show, it's Kelly MacDonald.

Is Margaret stuck now that she's discovered the other concubines? I feel so bad for her but not all the way. Her lust for Nucky did lead her there. What the hell is up with Van Alden? I was getting tired towards the end so I missed whose picture he was looking at as he flogged himself. Who was that?

That was a picture of Margaret at age 16, when she immigrated to the states. It was with her immigration file which Van Alden had requested. And it was in tiny print but also on the files it said that she was pregnant when she boarded the ship but had a miscarriage en route.

I don't think he had anything to do with it, I think he's just infatuated with her and the flogging is either punishing himself for impure thoughts or a different weird sex thing.

I'm with everyone else, I'm watching because the sets are pretty and so are the clothes, the acting is actually very well done, but I don't really care about any of these characters. They are pretty one-dimensional, very predictable, blah. The women all pretty much suck. I have the most sympathy for the girl whose face got slashed, and that's only because she actually seems to have chemistry with Jimmy unlike his baby momma.
Luciano is kind of hot. Kind of, because he looks childlike sometimes and it creeps me out, just a little.

Her temperance hat! I think the HBO site commented on everyone globally hating that hat, she's probably had it since she stepped foot off the boat.

No comments on last night's ep? The reveal about Jimmy's wife, or Meyer Lansky (sp)? It was one of the better episodes for me, and the soldier with the ruined face made my blood run cold.

That guy was played by Jack Huston, grandson of John and nephew of Angelica. He was excellent. Supposedly he's going to be in a few more episodes.
