There's a polygamous FLDS community here in BC, and they (the polygamists) want there lifestyle legalized. As long as it's consenting adults, I don't care, but there's a glaring legal hitch that I see (Legal Greecies, feel free to jump in): who, exactly, is marrying whom and what rights and responsibilities would everyone have to each other? Lets say Kody of the Douchey Hair was legally married to these four women. Are the women then all legally married to each other? And isn't that a same-sex marriage? What about divorce? What if Kody wants to divorce one wife but the other sister wives want her to stay in the family? Do the wives have no say? Who is financially obligated to whom? Kody shares in the income and debts of each wife, just as in a non-poly marriage, but if one wife runs up her credit cards, could the other wives be on the hook for the debt? What if Wife #3 wants another husband? What are Husband #2's rights and responsibilities within the marriage? It all makes my head spin.

For some reason I kind of like them. Yes, Kody is a tool who loves himself and his hair way more than any of the wives do. And he certainly managed to find a group of women with bizarre self-esteem issues. But they seem happy with him. The kids are all happy, seem to love each other, and are well spoken. Who really cares what they do as long as it works out for them?
What is the move to Vegas all about? Not sure how the kids will fare in a place like that, and I worry that Kody is going to try to get into entertainment somehow (beyond their show).

Is anyone else watching this mess?
They're making the classic reality show/head in the sand mistake - spending up a storm while having no other jobs. FOUR houses, sports car for Blondie Boy, and now a furniture shopping spree.
Oh yeah, and yet ANOTHER child. For some reason they don't believe that the man is having sex with a wife unless she gets pregnant. Huh? It does make me giggle a bit though to see that Robyn is now pretty hefty. In fact they've all gained weight, even Merri (sp?) who was pretty slim. I know Robyn is pregnant, but she still blew up like a balloon. I guess I find that funny because she seemed like Kody's little trophy wife, while the others looked like normal chubby gals.
Anyway, one son looks super depressed, and that worries me. Hunter? He wanted to escape a teen pool party to go play with another wife's baby. And the look on his face is pure despondence. I hope he's OK. These clowns need to figure out what to do for a living when this crashes and burns. Maybe Kate Gosselin can be wife number 5.

*waves* I'm watching!
The adult Browns, mainly Kody, sure don't seem to think through their decisions. I get the impression that the whole 'ZOMG! Must leave Utah for Vegas immediately!!1!' was mainly Kody's idea. Leaving a place where two of the adults had steady jobs in a bad economy for a city with one of the highest unemployment rates in the country when they have 22 (soon to be 23) mouths to feed is beyond idiotic. They leave their church community for somewhere without Fundamentalist Mormons and then 3/5ths of them are horrified by the thought of their kids interacting with *gasp* Presbyterians. And yeah, what a shocker the teenagers are ready to bolt back to Utah ASAP.
Kody & wives talk a good talk about making family decisions, but it sure does seem as though when it comes down to it what he says goes. Unfortunately, it's the more levelheaded wives- Janelle and to a lesser degree, Meri- who seem to be getting overruled. I just hope Janelle has the stones to go against Kody and get Hunter some help for his depression if it comes to that.
ITA about the four houses and sports car. I think they could have gotten away with 2 5-bed houses it they put Janelle and Meri's broods in a house and Christine and Robyn's broods in a house. They needed three houses, with Robyn and Meri sharing, at the most. The sports car is just ridiculous. The most practical thing would be for them all to have minivans.
The wives do all seem to have gained weight. It's probably stress, but then I doubt their diets are much better than the Duggars and their tater tot casseroles.
The most interesting part of the show IMO are the teens' couch interviews. Interesting to hear what they think of this circus. I would've been miserable if I had to live my teenage years on a reality show.

Yes, I'm watching this show, and I'm waiting for the sister wives to have an uprising.
Though, I don't think it's going to happen any time soon. Last week, you can really see the division not only between Kody and the Teens, but Meri/Janell versus Kody, Christine, and Robyn.
On the couch, the latter talks and Meri/Janelle fold into utter dispair. Janell really shows it.
Off topic:
The spotting OBYGYN doctor's visit was so staged. I swear Kody and Robyn are up for anything.

I thought so, too! And they really should not be pulling stunts like that because these people are NOT good actors. Kody looked like he was about to bust into a giggle fit in the middle of his wife's "miscarriage scare." What a dope.

I guess the rentals could have had occupancy limits. But it's really f'ed up to move the kids into separate houses when they had been living as one big family. Isn't that totally against what they were trying to do? Blend the kids, not separate them according to mothers?
Honestly, I don't even understand what their morals are. I don't think they do either. They poo-poo'ed the local church group, yet the morals talk consisted of Kody telling the teens that they were not supposed to be sexually active until after high school. That's it? What a bullshit sex talk that was.
I think Kody just wants to sleep with new people, that's where his beliefs lie. Well, congratulations. You've got a bunch of stressed out, depressed, chubby wives on your hands. And some pissed off teens who not only want to move as soon as possible, they don't even want to be polygamists. And the only instruction they have is to wait until after high school to have sex. Aren't a bunch of them on the cusp of hightailing it the hell outta there then? And the kids kinda freak me out. Some of the daughters look exactly alike - yet they have different moms. Just... ick.

Now he's becoming like the black sheep in the family and there's a lot of resentment: LINK I really think a lot of this strife has to do with the cameras being around. He resents what his family has become. Why in the fuck are these women putting make-up on for a camping trip? Because they are being filmed that's why and Hunter can't stand it.

OMG - he's a teenage boy, and they act like that. No need for the family to make such a big deal about it, and certainly no need to put it on film so the whole world knows he's acting like a teenager and judging him for it. That really wasn't fair to the kid, in my opinon. I certainly would not have liked my mom to put my teenage whining on film and distribute it to the media as tv drama fodder.
And I know it hasn't been mentioned - yet- but Kody had better not use that as any excuse to justify the polygamist practice of kicking the teen boys out of the family home. That's some bullshit right there.
