All right, I'll bite the bullet and create a thread for this show. I know I'm not the only one watching (thought the first season is technically over now, I think)! It's not quite as exciting as a real life Big Love, but I find it pretty interesting. The wives are all far more compelling than the husband. I find myself feeling sympathy for Meri, the "first wife," much like I do for Barb on BL, especially since Meri was born into the lifestyle. I also really like Madison, the daughter with (dyed) dark hair who doesn't want to be a "p'lyg" when she's married.

I think the new wife Robyn must have a seriously effed up past. Something is just off with her. I feel bad for her kids. Also, her "courtship" with Kody was just embarassing.

After seeing Kody in action, I can't really be skeptical about Bill Paxton having enough charisma to play a man with three wives, huh?

I saw the family on Oprah. The children seem well adjusted, considering. Robyn seems to be enjoying her role as the shiny new wife.

I watched a few minutes of an episode last night and had to turn it off because it was so depressing.

If these women claim their lifestyle is so great, they should explain why they are constantly crying. Just sayin'.

And Kody is a loser. I find it even more depressing that this women feel they aren't good enough to have one man to themselves, and the man they've decided to share isn't even a prize.

Saw this for the first time last night and it was like a train wreck. Didn't want to watch it at all but couldn't turn away. It just seems so foreign to me, I can't believe that people actually live like this!

Makes Gay Marriage seem AOK to me, after seeing this train wreck! (It was ok with me before, but this just re-inforces that thought that it is harmless and certainly not hurting my society any.)

I think Robyn is an asshole for being all, "it breaks my heart to disrupt this family." Then WHY ARE YOU DOING IT?!?

I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I've been watching this show since it came on. I think Meri is still in the marriage for her daughter. I think Christine makes everything all about her if she can, Janelle I really don't have an opinion on, and Robin cries over everything.

I saw this family on Oprah. Cody is legally married to Meri, but not to the other three. There is some talk in Utah of him being in legal trouble, but how can that be if he is only legally married to one of the four women. I mean it's not against the law to live with someone out of wedlock...

Okay, I know WAY too much about Sister Wives....back to lurking.

Actually in Utah certain living arrangements like the Kody fam's are considered bigamy or polygamy and he can go to jail, as can the wives.
I watch this show avidly, I think it is fascinating and more interesting than another sextuplets show.

I didn't understand fully the legal trouble the family could be in---thanks for the clarification on that. I hope things work out and the show is back for another season.

They explained the possible jail sentences on Oprah last week and someone at TWOP has a bunch of legal info on the laws in UT in the SW thread there.
