I feel so much secondhand embarrassment when I watch AI but oh my goodness I love Harry Connick, Jr. He is the rare guy who just gets better looking as he gets older. Sigh.
I want to see the Diva Family!

I am watching right now. Love how straight HCJ is with everyone. Plus, the guy is hot.

I haven't watched this season so far but I saw an article that Nikki McKibbin's son tried out and got a Golden Ticket and felt really, really old.

I can't believe how much better this show is! Even JLO isn't bugging me. Keith and Harry are cute with their little bromance. I wondered if they were trying to copy the Adam Levine/Blake Shelton thing, but they do genuinely seem thrilled to be with each other (Keith is probably thrilled that ANYBODY else is there after last year). And thank God they've all but cut out the endless fake bad auditions. I haven't watched the audition shows in many years because it was nothing more than Randy sitting with his mouth hanging open while they let the crazy people go on and on and on.
If you ever get a chance to see Harry in concert I strongly recommend it. I've seen him twice - once was an all New Orleans jazz show, and the other was a little bit of everything (jazz, standards, Broadway, original music). He is ADORABLE. Both times I saw him at an outdoor venue (Wolftrap, for any DC area people!). The last one was about 95 degrees and humid at 8pm, and the guy still danced his ass off.

I haven't watched AI much in recent seasons but I couldn't stomach 5 minutes last season. I think this season definitely shows promise with the judges and I do plan on tuning in.
I also wanted to say I still laugh every time I see the title of this thread.

The last episode had some great talent. I am loving Majesty Rose! And the sorta dorky guy from KY who sang after her... can't remember his name.

BUMP for the return, now down to just one hour tonight, where we can watch would be rock stars doing cover versions of "original" song "Give a Little Bit" by Goo Goo Dolls...
They teased us the Top 25, and everyone sounds really good, but is there a personality in there? Some star power? Any touch of charisma?
Stay tuned, or just wait for The Voice?

I posted the above on opening night, and here we are at closing night, and I'm creating a double post.
I voted for Nick. I think, if AI still had some relevance, he could have a Daughtry like career. He's got the looks and the chops to do it.
While Clark is cute and a Non Threatening Boy, he's probably too green and "goody goody" for the music industry.

What is wrong with me crying watching this show? It will be a long final season.

I haven't watched since Clay Aiken was on, there's seems to be a lot of young kids instead of young adults compared to the first two seasons.
I cried when Kelly was singing, but mostly I just feel old because I don't recognize a lot of the songs and the ones I do recognize, I hate how the kids are singing them. Except for LaPorsha, she has the best voice out of all of them and generally chooses songs that I recognize and like.
