I'm sad this is the last season. Sure, it's lost its relevancy, but it was certainly a staple in my home most of the years it was on. I didn't watch the season that Ellen was a judge because I thought it was ridiculous that she was on the panel. I wish I hadn't watched the season that Mariah was a judge.
Although I think LaPorsha should win, I will be surprised if she does. I think one of the WGWG will win again.
Oh, and I can't stand that Dalton kid. He seems like such a poser.

Yes, I haven't watched in ages, but I tuned in this year because it was the last season. Before tonight I thought that it was about time the show was put out of its misery, but then after I started to watch the finale, I didn't want it to end. It was just great getting to see almost everyone again even if most of them didn't get but a few seconds of screen time.
Plus, I didn't even realize until someone pointed it out at Previously TV that they didn't even acknowledge Michael Johns' passing. I wasn't a super fan of his during his season because I felt that he and Carly Smithson were sort of "ringers" especially the latter, but they were both very talented. Smithson eventually won me over with her cover of "Here You Come Again" which was wonderful to hear again tonight, and I felt that both left too early during their seasons no matter my personal feelings about them being "ringers".
As for the outcome, I would have been happy with either winning since I thought they were both good singers. I understand the criticism for Trent winning though. I could see why some fans would be upset that another WGWG won again especially when they were trying to find a bookend to Kelly Clarkson. On the other hand, I do think that La'Porsha is lucky that she doesn't have to sign the winner's contract and hopefully will have more freedom to make the music that she wants to because it was really apparent that Scott Borchetta did not like her at all.

The finale was great & I really enjoyed seeing so many Idol contestants again. I think both Trent & LaPorsha are equally talented, so I wasn't really invested in the winner To be honest, although Dalton isn't as good a singer, I like his voice and style better than either of the two front runners and would rather listen to him, anyway.

(way back on Page 6) We're gonna need a new subtitle, because this show is back! After a long absence of 2 whole years (that's totally like, forever, like totally in Millenial years), AI returns with new judges, and a more positive, less snarky version than the FOX show. WebsiteSo far, Katy seems to be the lead, and there's been only one "bad" performance (and she really was Broadway, not Pop), but it seems nice so far. I do wish they had waited about 3 or 4 more years, so that nostalgia could help make the show seem fresh again. We'll see....

Ryan is still the host?
I’ll check it out. I’m a sucker for the audition rounds of both Idol and The Voice and then I lose interest.

The girl who sang the Ariana Grande song last night was good.
The 15 year old who is singing Rihanna tonight emotes way too much. And her preinterview with Ryan was equally annoying. So of course, the judges love her.

I liked the guy from the first night who sang RiRi. The alpaca loving one. I too liked the girl who sang Ariana Grande and then the girl who sang Rainbow Connection and the boy with the surprisingly deep voice with the Frank Sinatra tune.
As far as the judges. I just have a soft spot for Lionel, didn’t really know Jason Aldean but I enjoyed him a lot. Jury still out for me on Katy. On a shallow note, even though she wears enough makeup for five people, she rocks that haircut. She’s really beautiful.

I *loved* the first girl last night, with the original song. And the guy with the alpaca fondness. And the guy with the deceptively large voice who looked like Harry Potter. I wanted to punch "Musical Theatre Girl" from last night in the face.

luminosa, you know your Country Stars even less, because that's Luke Bryant, not Jason Aldean!
I already forgot to watch last night, but I did like the high voiced / deep singing Sinatra kid. He could be a Clay Aiken.
