Actually Oliver Platt's character was the first good guy to die.He wasn't an X-Man, though. I meant to add that, lol.

I was completely underwhelmed by this movie. The only saving grace was the epic bromance between Xavier and Magneto. It's funny - in still pictures, Michael Fassbender is an average-looking guy, but in motion he transforms into teh sex. But as others have mentioned his accent was sneaking up on him in the last part of the movie.
The younger actors were useless. Mystique was so whiny! I actually cringed a bit during the seduction scene. How old was Mystique supposed to be anyway? In a previous scene Charles mentions that she's too young to drink. I know some time passed between then because Charles and Eric were off finding mutants, but the movie doesn't specify how much time elapsed.
Also, I was tickled to see Rebecca Romijn! I only knew about the Huge Ackman cameo.
IMO X-2 still stands as the best movie in the franchise (and is quite possibly the best comic book movie of all time), followed by the first X film.

Well, I finally caught this and really enjoyed it. I'll also pile onto the McAvoy and Fassbender love train because they were fantastic. Epic bromance FTW.
I have to say, it was the Charles Xavier role that really impressed me. I've never been able to conceive of him as an untried young man. They did a great job giving him humor and foibles and youth while maintaining the authority and values of the character. Or maybe I was just distracted by James McAvoy's pretty, pretty blue eyes during the last scene.

Before seeing this movie I thought he looked somewhat attractive in the pictures I saw of him but he didn't do anything for me. But I now have a crush on him after seeing this movie.

Just chiming in to say that Fassbender is indeed teh sex when he is in motion. Same goes for McAvoy, who I find to look dorky and not at all hot in stills, but in a movie? Ouch. Their combined sexiness in this movie was epic. It's out on DVD/bluray soon, but all I want is a sequel. With lots of nude bromance.

The slashiness of their relationship is the only worthwhile thing about this movie.

No love for the newest X-Men movie? It kept me entertained for 2 hours, so I can't complain. Plus, both a young and old set of Magneto & Xavier, in the same movie. The best part: when Quicksilver messed with all the guards in the kitchen.

Loooovvvveeeeddddd it. Cried at the end. You know which part. When Wolverine woke up, I was all, please let him find {Spoiler}Jean. And Cyclops! He is my all-time favorite X-Man. I was unspoiled so I new nothing going in. I will say that I did wish at one point that Bryan Singer was not such a twisted slime ball. Because he makes damn good movies.
