I know in hindsight the dominate thought is "wow, thank god she got away from that cult!" but there is no denying how we feasted off that insane gossip for years.

The entire TomKat era was such a bizarre, heady, demented time that is almost never talked about any more and sometimes I wonder if I dreamt the entire thing.

I'm still disgusted that Tom Cruise seemingly discarded one of his children in order to hang onto a stupid cult.

It's better for her that she won't be raised in it, but he's still pathetic.

Whatever flaws she has, Katie Holmes did a good thing and owes a lot to her family as well.

Totally agree, FiggyPudding. On everything. Tom is pathetic. It's better for Suri! Katie has flaws but did good with the help of her family. She is lucky to have had them on her side.

The sad thing is, even if Tom is pathetic and Suri is better off without him, she's still going to be scarred by the situation. Having your father walk away from you can be really painful. I can't imagine the added hurt of having it done so publicly and knowing that it was something as insane as a cult. I'm sure Katie is making sure that Suri gets help dealing with it, but it's still gonna suck.

I reread that W article and it’s even more unhinged and bizarre now that we are used to low key NYC mom Katie. I wonder what the interviewer was thinking.

I also wonder if maybe Tom does have contact and we just don’t know? Probably not.
