Citizen Kane is completely overrated and does not deserve all the hoopla over its 70th anniversary. Agreed.

Not to argue with the Kane-haters -- I mean, we like what we like, or not -- but I was bored by that movie until I watched it with Ebert's commentary and, WOW, talk about a 180. It's a towering, iconic masterpiece when once it was the last thing I'd watch.

Ebert's commentary on Kane might be the best anyone's ever done. I'd already read two Welles biographies and watched the movie at least ten times and I still learned tons from listening to that track.
I finally got around to watching The Goonies and I guess it's because I'm now well beyond the target age range, but wow, that movie sucked! I usually like kids' movies but I just couldn't like any aspect of that one.

I watched The Losers last night and really liked it. This is an unpopular opinion, at least in my own house. The plot was ridiculous, Jason Patric was also ridic, but the rest of the cast was funny and had great chemistry. Chris Evans' elevator scene had me howling with laughter.

I thought The Losers was a fun movie, it basically cemented my love for Chris Evans.

I get a lot of gasps and "WHAT?!?!?" when I say that I think this movie is overrated. I am 35 and saw it when I was about 10, so I was in the correct age range/demographic, and while I thought it was fine, it wasn't all that. This is not a popular opinion. The theme song by Cyndi Lauper, however, is amazing and was part of the dinner music at my wedding reception.

I always get Goonies mixed up with Gremlins - didn't like either one.
Just watched Wet Hot American Summer last weekend and thought it was pretty terrible but not in a spoofy-funny way, just in a didn't-quite-hit-the-comedy-mark way. I HATE Janeane Garofalo, BTW, so that might explain it too. Everything most of that cast did after that movie is WAY BETTER.

I didn't think it was funny, either. Total watch-checker. And I used to be a big Janeane fangirl but now I can't even really watch anything I even used to like. Maybe I'll feel differently about her when the 90s nostalgia fully blossoms.

Same with me about Janeane. Once she started spouting off about the Scientology program to detox the workers who had cleaned up the 9/11 site, I was done.

I didn't like The Notebook, and Ryan Gosling isn't that cute. I watched that movie once and thought it stunk like roadkill.
