I hope their whole promo run, up to just before the movie release, is just bits like this, the struggle for the airwaves between District 13 and the Capitol.

Somehow I had forgotten that Johanna got snatched up along with Peeta. I love her "Man, fuck this shit" body language in that clip.

First full length trailerLooks good. I have to laugh at the end how Gale totally misses the plane he was shooting at (and of course Katniss manages to take them both down). Poor Effie. She looks so drab. She must be in hell.

I'm in agony. I can't wait for MJ #1.  I predict that they will withhold all the stuff with Peeta, Johanna, and Annie. I have a sneaking feeling that this movie will only show the beginning of Peeta's unraveling. He'll probably get 3 or 4 short scenes. One with his interview with Cesar. One when he asks for the rebels to stop. And one when we'll probably see a slightly bruised Peeta warning 13 about the eminent bombing. But I'd bet my last dollar that the final scene will be the Peeta/Katniss "reunion" when all hell breaks loose, and the screen goes black. UGH!! Can't wait! |

I think you are right on the money about where they will split the movies - it will be all, "Yay! He's back! Wait...holy shit!" Then cut to black. I hope we get a little more with Peeta and Joanna, but I guess we'll see. This section of the story is pretty Gale-heavy. I'm glad that it appears Effie will be in District 13. She sort of disappears after Catching Fire in the books, but I like Banks' performance and I'm glad we'll see more of her. |

I think if there will be any extra Peeta and Johanna stuff, it will definitely be in part two. We'll probably see Johanna explain what happened to them, and scenes of Peeta's therapy/treatment while Katniss watches behind a glass, then goes off to train. I expect next to no Peeta in the first half, and lots of extra Gale. I'm neutral on Gale, so I don't mind. Extra Effie is also a plus. Part 2 is where I get confused. They have 2 hours to fill, but with what exactly?  ETA: Donald Sutherland is camping it up, but damn is he selling the crazy eyes. His take on Snow is super creepy. Great casting there. |

He has the perfect voice for Snow, equal parts smooth and scary. I'm also glad Effie's role is expanded. I was hoping that would happen, I missed her character so much in Mockingjay when I was reading it. |

I still don't know how they make these last two movies. I thought the 3rd book was a giant pile of depressing and pointless suck. So much pointless killing of children.
