I feel like everybody has had a friend like Marnie whose only tolerable when everything in their life is going well, and even then... Watching season one again I feel that Dunham dressed attractively then so i am not understanding the costuming now. Perhaps it is intentionally echoing Hannah's mental decline . I think there's a weird undercurrent between Marnie and Ray. In season 1 he understandably detested her due to his friendship with Charlie but now there seems to be some (one-sided?) sexual tension there. Could be b/c Alex Karpovsky has a reasonable amount of chemistry with most of the cast.

I liked his scene with Patrick Wilson in episode 5 so much that I rewound and watched it, again. Alex Karpovsky is very compelling.

OMG, Jessa is HORRIBLE. I just don't CARE what happens to her. I guess the reason someone like Shosh looks up to her is because she is a "free spirit" just traveling around and doing whatever, and that may come off as glamourous, but damn, she is just a terrible person.

The thing about watching a character like Marnie is that she gives life to a lot of the more selfish things that a lot of us feel. That whole thing, for example, about her being jealous/resentful of Charlie's success rang really true. Of course, a decent person - in real life - would stifle that feeling and try to be decent about it. But it's the kind of thought that flashes in your mind - and her character brings those negative qualities to life. In any case, I think Allison Williams is just gorgeous so I like watching her on screen!

How annoying and fake is Hannah's OCD? Let's give her a diagnosis instead of a personality! I said I wasn't watching this show any more but I did, and I wish I hadn't.

I just watched the last three eps in reverse order, but Adam Driver's scene with Shiri (sp?) Appleby is weirding me out still. How does this dude get into the headspace to dive into some girl's buttcrack onscreen? He (character) is indeed a creep, but I can't stop watching him. I'm always frowning though.

Sadly the show has gone where I thought it would....Lena Dunham doesn't have that much to tell anymore so there'll be scenes for shock value and weird things like Hannah's sudden OCD re-appearance (I think they did say something about it in season 1). Since it's a comedy I guess it's ok if there isn't much of an actual story....but there's also not much of a comedic element anymore.

Adam Driver was really very good this last episode. I don't know what this show has planned for him but I would like to see him in other things now. I feel like Allison Williams is finally comfortable with Marnie. Marnie was embarrassing and gross this ep and it's the first time that I felt like the actress enjoyed playing her. Marnie's awfulness was really enjoyable. It's funny b/c I always feel Zosia Mamet brings the most acting talent of the four leads to the table, but it's her character that I want written out. Shoshanna is annoying and I don't care about her at all. I enjoy any bit we get of Alex Karpovsky, however, and I want to see where Ray goes (literally as he will need a home when his relationship with Shoshanna implodes) next. Also, on a shallow note, Christopher Abbott is kinda beautiful.

Can somebody help me here? I thought Ray owned Grumpy's. At least, that's the impression I got from Season One. It wasn't until he became involved with Shoshanna that he was fleshed out as a loser.

He's Grumpy's manager but I suppose it wasn't enough to cover his rent and he wound up homeless and crashing with his college-aged girlfriend. Ray's adrift right now.
