That designer sounds insufferable, so I can see why he and Lena are friends.

I don't think anyone involved with that Vogue story knows what the word "subversive" means. I'm pretty sure little girls wearing white Holy Communion dresses is the very opposite of a "subversive world".

That Vogue article was insufferable. It's everything to hate about the fashion industry.

That said, the dress is okay. Not the most flattering, but nothing to object about to, either. It just looks like a short cute wedding dress. Calling it a First Communion dress is way overblown.

She wore it with white tights and white shoes that had a Mary Janes-esque look. The intent was definitely there.

Her shoes were pointy and heeled so not very little girl-ish.

I grew up Catholic, so it's not a revolutionary idea to me that two sacraments are linked. Baptism, First Communion, Confirmation, and Matrimony all involve wearing fairly similar white dresses, sometimes with crowns or veils. Lena and her designer seem to think they discovered fire.

I haven’t kept up with her health issues but she doesn’t look well. She looks steroid-puffy. Don’t like any of the dresses but they all seem very “her” so good on her. If she’d attempted some Vera Wang/meringue thing it would look odd IMHO.

Unfortunately my immediate thought upon clicking on the photos was that she looked really unwell. I know she endured chronic pain and had a hysterectomy at a young age, but I have no idea if they would contribute to how ill she looks now.

She said after she had Covid it caused problems with her pituitary gland and she was on steroids and that they made her gain weight.
