The best thing about royal weddings is they play into everybody's childhood fantasy about what it's like to be a princess for a day. It seems like the rest of the time it's not really that glamorous.
I think the tiara and Victoria's dress were lovely together and she really looked happy and radiant. I guess he's the perfect consort because he really just fades into the background.
Mabel's outfit was unfortunate. Maybe the dress was more sheer than she thought and she thought she would rectify it with some evening pants. Oof.

I actually find Daniel really handsome in a sophisticated-European-guy kind of way. They look like a fun couple to be around. Mabel's dress reminds me a bit of that black-and-blue Rodarte nightmare that Reese Witherspoon wore to the Oscars a few years back. Loved Princess Elena's bolero -- a little nod to the bullfighting costume.

Her speech to the nation was adorable, she thanked Sweden for 'they' delivered Daniel.
His toast at the reception was just too sweet!! He had a whole elaborate story with anecdotes, for instance about how romantic she is; she set to leave for a month and was up all night before busy writing. When he woke up, he found a box with 30 letters. How sweet is that?!
And how the story usually is about a Princess finding her frog prince? Except that this frog was no prince. But with a lot of help and guidance of the King and Queen he learned. He ended his speech by addressing her directly, how what matters is love and declaring his love for her.
Just too sweet!

Thanks for posting that, Augustus! It seems like the perfect blend of dignified and sentimental.
Inquiring minds want to know: were Pavlos and Marie-Chantal there? They are cousins, but then again, I didn't invite my cousins to my wedding...

I was hoping she'd be there in all her overtanned glory.

Her nose looks exactly the same to me, she's just not primped and buffed up in the older picture. And wearing glasses will make you look a lot different. I know Queen Silvia had some procedures done, but I'm not convinced Victoria ever did.

Aw, Daniel's speech was totally adorable. Here's a video of the speech[/color] with English subtitles for the parts in Swedish. Victoria is just beaming the whole time. They seem like a really sweet couple. I'm also not convinced Victoria had a nose job. Her face doesn't look all that different to me, other than losing some baby fat. She was a beautiful bride.
