I think Henry Cavill is incredibly handsome but does nothing for me onscreen. He's a blank slate, which is why I guess the superhero thing worked for him...the costume did half the work.

Superman is a blank slate. He's basically America's ideal vision of itself.

As Superman, yes...I can agree with this statement. However, I was in lurve with him on The Tudors. I just think that remaking these films over and over and over again is ridiculous. The same could be said for the Spiderman films. They just need to go with one "new" Superman, stick with him and then build the DC Comics franchise around that. Period. Hey, it worked for the Marvel films.

Finally caught this on HBO tonight. Dragged on for about a 1/2 hour too long, too many fight scenes/explosions.
Henry Cavil sure is purty, tho.

Saw this on HBO last night. Best things were Henry's prettiness and the score.

I finally watched this movie last night on HBO as well. Overly long and boring, and destruction for the sake of destruction. Not even Henry could save it for me, because I don't like how he looks in the film.
Ugh Snyder and Goyer. Just ugh.

I felt like it totally devolved to destruction porn at the end. there's a poin where the destruction just becomes someone having fun with special effects. The Avengers somehow didn't bother me as much as this one. And while Henry is pretty to look at, he didn't bring anything to the character. This movie could have been so much better. I did love the supporting cast though - Richard Schiff, Chris Meloni, Costner (though I hated what they did with him), Laurence Fishbourne - too bad they didn't have a better movie to be in.

Supporting cast saved the movie, I liked Russell Crowe in this movie and it pains me to say that. I can't imagine Batman and Superman going up against Captain America.

No way they'll go up against Captain America. It would be a ballsy move if they did. I just doubt they are that confidant about their movie. Cap 3 may be a sequel but with the events in Winter Soldier it's a whole new world to explore.
