Thanks for the info! I didn't watch GH back then, and I meant to look up what soap it was, since it seems that everything they choose to have the characters watch has meaning.
I can't believe the season finale is this week. I like that the FBI actually started to do a good job, despite knowing it means poor Dylan Baker (William) is going to have a rough episode this week.

Is anyone else of a certain age, and caught what Paige and Elizabeth were watching on tv when she was home from school? On General Hospital back in the day, they had a Russian spy storyline. A Russian spy took over another character's identity: Grant was a SPY Or has this been going on all season and I just now noticed it lol. YES!! I laughed loudly at that because it was such a great little wink and a nod to anyone who would catch that. I'm sad we're already at the season finale. This has been a stellar season. Also, I'm thrilled it got renewed for two more seasons and then that's it. Having an end date means the showrunners/writers can map out how they want it to end.

So I did a little internet research and it turns out that when Grant was exposed as a spy, he gave evidence and carried on with his life in the US as an American.
Foreshadowing??

I can't even imagine all the possibilities of what could happen on the next episode. There is so much going on, and I'm finding it all interesting. Every storyline going right now is great.

So I was a bit underwhelmed with the finale, how did everyone else feel?
A *great* season but the finale felt like filler to me. We already knew P&E were facing going home at some point, I guess it is getting everything teed up for the next season though.
Not sure how P's son will factor in to it next year, will he be the catalyst for Stan figuring this mess out? I can't WAIT to see Stan's face when he finds out P&E are spies, you know that has to happen at some point in the next two seasons.

Yeah, the finale was quiet, which was sort of at odds with the rest of the season, but it was effective. My heart was pounding when William was delirious--I was so waiting for him to drop clues about Elizabeth and Philip to Stan...which he did, but they were fairly vague, if not to the audience, to Stan.
I did love how livid Philip was about what he saw as Paige using her 'assets' to get on the inside in Beeman household. I'm excited to see where this all goes next season.

The show finally gets some Emmy love! Five nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series and acting nods for both Keri and Matthew. It will be fun to see Matthew and Keri on the red carpet together.

I'm thrilled for everyone involved in the show. This was long overdue! The only thing that could've made it better was a nom for Alison Wright (Martha).

I'm so delighted the show is getting some Emmy love! That said, seeing that Keri and Matthew were nominated got my hopes up, so I was extra disappointed that Alison Wright wasn't nominated:/

Late to the party but just finished up the last season. I have no idea how to watch the upcoming season without cable but anyway, some random comments since I watched the last episode an hour ago.
1. I love that Paige's insistence on wanting to go to church that badly has now bitten her in the ass, and it is now an assignment. She is so annoying.
2. I laughed so hard when Paige braked and Philip jerked forward during their first driving lesson.
3. Henry is getting older in one-year increments every single episode in season 4. He went from child to a college kid in a season!!
4. I think the reason that Elizabeth's clothes and hair aren't so heinously 80s is because she's doesn't understand or like fashion fads driven by American consumerism.
5. I love Young Hee and Elizabeth's quiet "I'll miss her" comment made me cry.
6. This show is brutal. Did they really write off Oleg, Nina, Martha, and Arkady in one season?
7. The episode with Martha leaving, the parallel between Clark's attachment to Martha and having to let her go along with Elizabeth's growing fondness with Young Hee and her knowing the good cannot last -- it was really a beautiful, wonderful episode.
8. Elizabeth's apparent coldness towards her family is so interesting because to some degree, she doesn't seem to believe in love. She questioned her handler when he exclaimed that E's mother passed away and she sent her love. Also that moment of pure shock when Philip was all quizzical and that had ?!?! look on his face when Elizabeth gave him her blessing to be with Martha eventually -- it was so genuine!
9. I think it's interesting that Elizabeth and Philip's other tag team spy couple seemed just as happy and loving with each other.
10. I find it hard to believe that Elizabeth and her children would have liked that Korean stew -- I'm Korean-American and I don't even like it, plus Korean food definitely has a scent that many of us were teased for growing up.
11. How did they bug Martha's parents' phone so quickly, to catch her phone call from the park? I thought they didn't live in the area. Also why wouldn't the FBI still be listening in case she contacted them months later?
12. I hope Stan does not end up being the one to catch E & P. He is very dumb, and he was careless and stupid in dealing with Nina. He kept getting commended because he would stumble onto things and get lucky. His style is be suspicious of everyone without cause, investigate, and once in awhile, find something.
13. I am not at all interested in Philip + Irina's son storyline.
14. My mom wasn't particularly worried about me being home alone when I was growing up, so I think the upthread worries about the kids without parental supervision is kind of cultural. My mom was more worried about some nosy neighbor reporting me about being alone, and I lived in a big city and not a small neighborhood-y suburb.
15. Poor William. In another life, I hope Martha and William could have found each other to live happily ever after.
