I think there are certain pairings where it's obvious they do belong together and others where the friendship is more important than a romance. No one will ever be able to tell me that Holmes doesn't love Joan. She's his best friend and his rock. The finale proved that to me. That doesn't mean they need to get together. They don't. Their bond is strong and growing. No need to mess it up with UST that isn't there.
Thankfully, Benson/Stabler never happened. Bones/Booth irritates me so much because Bones is a caricature. Grown women with high IQs don't have to act the way she does. Grr...hate. I don't mind Castle/Beckett because they did take their foot off the gas with them and let it happen naturally. Too late for me to care, though, because the early years of Castle shoved them down my throat and put me off the show. It was just annoying.

I quit on Bones in the season 6 finale when she said she was pregnant. It was just too much like later season X-Files redux for me, with Brennan & Booth hooking up off-camera and us having no indication that it's happened until she's pregnant. Considering how horribly the baby storyline on TXF played out I was just DONE.

Hmmm is it painfully obvious to anyone else that Mycroft is part of a sinister plot?

It's been painfully obvious since the last episode he was in, when he called someone after he'd failed to convince Sherlock to come back to London.

Mycroft knows some serious people.

I'm wondering if he's involved with MI6 or something like that.

Probably is MI5/MI6. If he is an intelligence officer, what would he need Sherlock for? He wanted him to move back to London. Are they desperate for his services or something else? I'd think they'd use Moriarty before Sherlock.

I've found it hard to get through last week's episode and I am seeing the reaction for this week's isn't any better. Hmmmm...

Same. For me it's totally Mycroft. I liked Rhys Ifans as Mycroft in his first couple episodes but less so in the later ones. Which has made it hard for me to slog through the last few episodes. I think it was a big mistake to pair him and Watson romantically. For one it changed the dynamic of Holmes and Watson too much. And also Rhys Ifan and Lucy Liu have zero chemistry. I know it'll be tough to get Moriaty back on the show because Natalie Dormer is super in demand right now. But I think they need to get a compelling antagonist for season 3.
