IMO - The unfinished plots revolve around Stuart & Debbie's weird relationship and Howard's obsession with it, his periodically reverting the a man-child and how his wife fits into all that. I was fully expecting Stuart & Debbie to become a couple eventually, which would have driven Howard nuts.

Who owns the comic book shop now anyway, if Debbie gave Stuart the money to re-open it? Wouldn't it be partially owned by Howard now? That could make for some fun episodes.

Since she loaned him money to reopen his store, I assume his work as her aide is over, thus their relationship - whatever it was. And it depends if it was a gift or loan. Howard could forgive a loan, thus freeing Stuart from any debt, or he could be all, "Hey, I kinda own a comic book store now!"

As for Howard's relationship issues with his mother remaining unresolved, that's what sudden death often does. Leaves things unresolved.
