. I've never gotten the furor over his "whining" because I've never seen anything he said as all that terrible and it's generally based in truth (the British press IS brutish, and the second season of Downton Abbey really wasn't the best). His primary problem seems to be the lack of a good PR filter. Does anyone know when Parade's End is coming to HBO? Is it this weekend? He really doesn't deserve the vitriol he's gotten for his statements. He has had to backpeddle in a few instances and say he was miquoted but I think that's par for the course for most actors, all of whom do junkets and answer questions repeatedly. Parade's End begins Tuesday February 26th @ 9pm.

I like him as an actor but I wish that both his stans and his anti-stans would take a hike. Both fractions are supremely irritating and you basically can't read anything about him on the net without encountering them. Perhaps some sort of death-match is in order... To be honest, this covers nearly every celeb with an overenthusiastic group of fans, think Tom Hiddleston e.g. and the nay-sayers. Though I was highly amused by the naughty Hiddleston tumblr, and the shocked reactions it elicited. Ha! A death-match sounds ideal. I really like him as an actor, though I couldn't exactly warm up to Parade's End. And he does have a great voice. Looks wise, no, he's most definitely not a classic handsome man, but he does have an interesting face. One that absolutely manages to stand out in a sea of pretty faces. Then again, I think Tilda Swinton is striking in the most unconventional way. From what I've read all over, he can be quite prickly. Of course, if you find yourself being surrounded by stans and the British press, so would I.

He's very good in Sherlock but I am alarmed at what appears to be his bloodless pallor. Extremely pale people freak me out! So you and I will never hang out then.... I like him, he says stupid stuff, but there doesn't seem to be malice there. In addition, he seems to have a good sense of humor. I don't want to sleep with him, just hang out.

I have no opinion of him, but I'm greatly amused that some on ONTD have christened him Benadryl Wafflesticks.

I didn't understand his appeal at first. I found him weird looking (I know, I am shallow) but he has a nice voice. He is starting to grow on me now. I see so many pictures of him at tumblr and has a huge fanbase..

Who? I thought we were celebrating April Fools Day early when I saw his name. I have no opinion of him, but I'm greatly amused that some on ONTD have christened him Benadryl Wafflesticks. HEE! Can't say I've seen anything he's been in/on. But I do keep hearing about the need to check out Sherlock, so I guess he's a part of that? And he's got crazy stans? Geez, who doesn't these days?

"Washington Post" TV columnist Lisa de Moraes (intentionally) calls him " Bandersnatch Cummerbund." She also calls Ryan Seacrest "Seabiscuit."
