I would actually say he was among the best-dressed (per the theme) of the men. Her look has nothing to do with it, but I don't fault spouses of famous people for setting their sights on 'look good but unremarkable.'

Also, she was very pregnant in September, but there's been nary a word on the baby. I hope nothing bad happened. Was that their 3rd? I hope nothing bad happened too.  They never confirmed they were expecting a third child. There was gossip that she had a baby bump and was seen cradling her “belly” at the Emmy Awards but a pregnancy was never confirmed nor did his team make any official or public statements about them expecting. I didn’t think she looked pregnant at all at that time. |

This is what I read back in September-- There's a baby on the way for Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter!
The couple is expecting their third child together, E! News has learned. During Monday evening's 2018 Emmys in Los Angeles, the 40-year-old theatre and opera director debuted a small but growing baby bump as she arrived to television's biggest event alongside her husband of three years.
Then US Weekly picked up the story, and People had the headline "Are Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter expecting baby #3?"
I originally took that to mean they were, in fact, expecting. But it seems E! just made an assumption, and People hedged their bets.

I hadn't even heard of any pregnancy rumors so I had to check and in the photos from the Emmys...I don't know, it's hard to tell? Sophie was wearing a bright yellow, really wide and loose dress so who knows. There is one pic where she's super slouchy and you can see what could be a tiny bump.
But they did announce their other kids' births and names at some point so if she really was pregnant I doubt they'd keep it secret. Of course I hope nothing went wrong, that would be terrible :-(

I mentioned in Kristen Stewart’s thread a few weeks ago that with both her and Benedict Cumberbatch being apparent Oscar front runners this year, the Oscar interview circuit was sure to be insufferable, and neither one is letting me down. Pajiba has a fun go of recapping Benedict saying that, among other things, he didn’t bathe while shooting “The Power of the Dog” and didn’t speak to Kirsten Dunst on set because their characters hate each other. Sounds like a real peach of a costar. He also said he felt that he needed to smoke real cigarettes in the film instead of the fakes, and he correspondingly got nicotine poisoning. |
