Don't be jealous, Hannibal is still airing on Thursday in Canada. No spoilers but I really like Richard Armitage as Dolarhyde. I wasn't familiar with him before but he is excellent in the part.

I am LOVING this season of Hannibal.bronze, I think Richard Armitage is knocking it out of the park as Francis Dolarhyde. You should check him out in a BBC mini-series North and South.

I know this show is so stylized, but I don't know what to make of Hannibal's "prison". That place looks nicer than some of my apartments! Can someone explain this to me.

I think Rutina is fantastic as the girlfriend. Richard's just creepy at this point, but I am enjoying his yoga moves.

Ralph Fiennes is still my preferred Francis, but I'll withhold judgment until it's all over.

Are Hannibal's current digs real or part of his mind palace? Bloom did mention he has books and drawings... but yeah, the rest of it seems pretty plush for a sociopath.

So Reba is white & blind in the book? I haven't read it but already like Rutina very much in the role. And Armitage gets top marks in creepy. I remember vaguely that he has a speech impediment (I thought maybe he was just mumbly). Do they explain what he suffers with exactly?

I kinda miss Alana's cute wrap dresses. I can't fantasize wearing her current stylish power suits.

In "Red Dragon" it was explained that Francis has a cleft palate, and his grandmother wouldn't get it fixed until he was already an adult. As a result, he has a speech impediment and is very self conscious about it.

Emily Watson played Francis's girlfriend in the film, but I actually like Rutina better.

I honestly can't tell if the prison is Hannibal's mind palace. I think the writers could make that much more clear.

Yes, Joan Allen played Reba in Manhunter. Tom Noonan played Dolarhyde. I read Red Dragon a long time ago so I don't remember many of the details but I think because of Noonan (who was good in the part) I always thought Dolarhyde was supposed to be hideously ugly. So it was a little confusing to see first Ralph Fiennes and then Richard Armitage play the parts. Rutina Wesley was good as Reba. I didn't care for her much on True Blood but now I'm thinking it was definitely the terrible writing on that show.

I think Dolarhyde *thought* that he was really ugly but actually he was ok looking. I seem to remember that Reba overheard a conversation among other co-workers discussing his appeal.

Yeah, they brought that up during this past episode. Reba said she didn't care what other people thought, but I don't think Francis believed her.

I had to laugh at one scene during this episode though. Before Francis runs up the stairs, he puts his black underpants on. In "Red Dragon", Ralph ran up the stairs naked, and apparently his balls had to be digitally removed/shortened because it was "too distracting".... So watching this scene I kept thinking.... you should be naked...
