Poor Chilton. He is like the Roadrunner. Drop an anvil on his head, he'll still survive. Also the lip biting scene was gross as hell. Once he got kidnapped I knew he was going to get Freddy's fate from the book but it was still hard to watch. I did love how giddy Hannibal was when he heard what happened.
Season/series finale next week!

Yeah, I didn't have a problem with showrunners making Chilton the victim of Francis's rage. I wonder how closely the finale will follow the book?

Poor Chilton. Producer Bryan Fuller said Chilton would be the Kenny from South Park of this show and he isn't kidding. I don't mind him being tormented from time to time but he didn't deserve to get burned like that.
"Is Hannibal in love with me?" TOOK YA LONG ENOUGH, MR EMPATHY!

Supercut of the same scene from Manhunter, Red Dragon and Hannibal. Interesting, Manhunter seems the chilliest, Red Dragon the hammiest and Hannibal the most intimate. Finale aired last night in Canada. Can't wait to talk about it

I wouldn't call "Red Dragon" hammy....
I enjoyed that supercut. I think I'll go back and watch "Manhunter". Can't wait for tomorrow's finale.

Hoo boy. That was a doozy. I think that goes up there as one of my favorite series finales.

It was so gory though. I had to look away several times. It's kind of hard to believe the TV series was the most violent of all the adaptions.

Interview with Bryan Fuller. He talks a bit about how generous NBC's standards and practice were to the show. Also how the violence seemed to become more realistic and less operatic this back half of the season. I thought it was a pretty good series finale. I would have liked to see Will get away completely from Hannibal but that was not the story Fuller was interested in telling. This ending made sense for this show. I am curious to how others interpreted the very last scene with Bedelia. I was like the author of the interview above. I thought she had gone mad and cut off her own leg to serve up. Fuller says it was someone else, either Hannibal or one of his acolytes. There were 3 chairs at the table so you could see it as Hannibal and Will. Even though I thought season three was more flawed than the first two, I'll miss the show and hope by some miracle Fuller will be able to do his version of Silence of the Lambs!

After feeling meh on this season as a whole, I really loved the finale. Any scenes between Hannibal and Will are always the strongest in the episode. I thought it was fitting for the murder husbands to go over a cliff, with their arms wrapped around each other. That scene made me cry for some reason. Probably an emotional release from all the slo-mo stabbing and gruesome blood spatter.
I hope the series can be saved, but if it isn't, I am satisfied.
