The music box that was playing the song "The Anniversary Waltz" while they were playing. I don't know if it's really called a music box, but it was a box that had music come out of it. It was sitting on the coffee table.

Ah ha. I was only half paying attention to that scene so I guess I didn't connect the dots.

For most of the episode, every time Lizzie came to see Red, he was working on restoring the music box. Her referring to him "restoring that thing" seemed to indicate that he knew she'd be hurt when she found out about her husband, so he prepared to lessen the blow by comforting her when that time happened. To me, it seemed more like she was conceding the fact that Red, through all his stealing and stuff, has never lied to her and always seemed to have her best interest at heart and she finally understood/accepted that this "bad guy" tried to warn her and was right.

I have a question for people who are more observant than me: One of the things Liz said to Red at the end when she had her big realization was "You spent days building that damn thing," what "thing" is she talking about? The music box

Wow, that went over my head completely. Thanks for the summary!

Seriously, James Spader saves this show, along with Dembe and HOT Ressler. Of course, Ressler is going to work himself to death and Lizzy will somehow save him. Speaking of Lizzy, she sucks at pretending not to know anything, her wedding vows were a dead giveaway. Tom fooled her for 2(?) years and she fell for it! She thinks now she can talk in phrases that have two meanings and he won't catch on? Yeah...

I will never trash a James Spader performance, especially the one on this show. He's deliciously evil and relishes in it. At the same time, he's creepy, although not as much as Tom is.
Tom needs scruff, BTW. He looks weird clean shaven.
Oh, and another shirtless scene from Ressler is in order. Has he had one already? This show packs so much into an episode, I forget some minor details from the previous episodes.

James Spader is amazing in this role. "Wipe down the room, and make sure you grab the yogurt pretzels" - hee.

Finally watched the most recent episode, I have a very strong dislike for Lizzie. She's an idiot, seriously. I don't know how she can be an FBI agent. Example 1- getting out of the car to follow Tom at the Museum/Library (I forget what it was), when she knew full well that Red's people were tailing him. I understand the urge to want to know right now what he's up to, but if he's been lying to you for two years, you can sit in the car for another 15 minutes or so to find out what he's doing. Example 2- breaking Tom's fingers. When she took out that wrench to break his fingers, I dug deep down in my brain and tried to pull out my diploma in watching Spy movies and thought to myself, "Wouldn't that make it easier for him to get out of the cuffs?" Oh look, I was right! Example 3- this doesn't pertain to Lizzie, but when she and Tom got into a fight and Tom was able to GRAB the gun and hold it at her, PLUS GRAB the door know in order to open it... how did he do that with broken fingers? HOW?!?!?
I still love this show because of Red, Ressler and Dembae (sp?) but they can get so lazy with little details sometimes.

I love that there are other fans of this show with whom I can chat.
And I agree, Lizzie's not-so-bright for an FBI agent. I'm trying to figure out what exactly is Tom's deal.
I'm starting to think that none of them is trustworthy. Except Ressler. <3
