Christopher Sr. should have been a strapping angelic hunk, like Mark Valley. Yes--someone more like that for Christopher. HUNK. I couldn't see forfeiting my enormous fortune to marry my half-uncle/brother who looks like he should be wearing a pocket protector and whom I could snap over my knee like a twig. |

I like the girl playing Cathy, but I wish they had went with someone that fit her description in the book.
That was some quality acting Ellyn Burstyn did while on the stairs. I didn't mind the plot deviating from the book because she played that scene so well.
Although the ending wasn't the same in the book (which I'm now rereading for the 12th time), I didn't mind them changing it that much.

News on the sequel, with a bit of a spoiler in the article concerning time: {Spoiler}they're starting the sequel 10 years afterwards, so maybe they're dumping Dr. Paul overly supportive parenting ? ? ?

EW's Petals on the Wind breakdown is really funny. I'd be willing to bet they'll still stuff most of the juicy details in there but make it later to de-emphasize how young Cathy was when she started getting it on with Dr. Paul. |
