I agree that there's some thing going on with Chip and Jo. I'm not a fan of theirs, I find Chip unbearably sophomoric. He reminds me of Glory Days by Bruce Springsteen. I had heard that they wanted out of their contracts but who knows. Didn't the first Flip or Flop people crash and burn so they were replaced?

Tarek and Christina (Flip or Flop) got divorced, but I was made to understand that the "show must go on". I saw a couple of shows following their separation, but nothing for about 6 months. I'm thinking they're toast. Guess I'll be watching a lot of Property Brothers - but I like their stuff, and I like that their renovations include a budget for furnishings. Anyone see any "My Lottery Dream Home" episodes yet?

TC-whenever this thread pops to the top I think, "uh oh! What did Mulva's wife do?"

Man, I forgot about this thread!! I just reread the entire thing. I still have the same basic bitches about HGTV. Soon, no more Chip and Jo (I still think there's something we aren't being told there, but that's just my innately suspicious nature). And I'm not fond of all the "Flip or Flop" versions out there either. There's TOO many now. We're house hunting now, and HGTV has gone from "relaxing background noise" to "house horrors, and MY God I'm scared to buy a place!" Then we saw a place that looked like Joanna Gaines was a huge influence on it, and were like "this isn't as lovely in person...." I don't mind the original "Flip or Flop" people. The Atlanta couple is dull, and the Las Vegas couple is somehow even trashier than the originals. They had some cute one offs that I've seen, like one set in DC that I thought was great, but frankly I'm tired of the "Guy is the contractor and does all the work....and the woman designs, and makes all the decisions (and spends big)!" lay out that we keep seeing.

It makes me happy that Traffic hasn't started a "Ratscabies Bitch Thread", though I am sure I deserve it!

I'm actually watching "Flip or Flop" with Tarek and Christina right now - and it's an episode that I haven't seen before so it's gotta be one of the post-separation shows. Still too much "let's use gray with white quartz counters", but I do like the end result and that's a combo I'd use in my own house. And yeah, they're still the best flippers.

That's why I like Nicole Curtis Rehab Addict. She talks a lot about the struggles about being a women in a male dominated industry and she's flourished both as a general contractor and designer. I know there's been some weird behind the scenes drama with her pregnancy but she's back on the air this weekend. I like her style.

Yes, she renovated the historic Ransom Gillis House in Detroit and did a wonderful job; I went on the tour post-cleanup and it turned out quite well, and spurred on a huge resurgence in that Detroit neighborhood.
