Was that the nanny who had really long hair that she just kind of bundled up? That was the one! Oh, we had a grand time with that one on TWOP! There were even alerts when that episode came up on repeats. She was a pill. Mayim was OK with everything. She just had modesty concerns because of her religion. She even paid the $5000 out of her pocket.

Glad that my memory is faulty and that she wasn't as upset by the process as I remembered. Am I at least right in remembering that she looked really good at the end and that she seemed happy with the final results?

Did something happen to her that caused her to become more religious? I remember seeing an interview during her later Blossom years at c. 19/20 and she seemed very chill, laid back a seemingly 180 than what she is now. It happens. People change especially in their 20's. Heck I've seen it with former friends, but something always triggers it. Sometimes it's a significant other or a spouse, but her ex supposedly wasn't as religious as she was and iirc he converted to Judaism.

I really hate it that she's such a tool. It was a big homecoming weekend here and, from the pics I saw on Facebook, the girls' dresses have gotten way more slutty on the average than I would feel comfortable with as a parent. In light of the Harvey Weinstein drama, I wish that these young girls could concentrate on feeling pretty without being so sexy. Modesty, while not required, is not a bad thing. It would be nice if Mayim could be a champion of modesty without running down the girls she felt like she was compared to. She'd be a nice contributor to the conversation but if she's going to engage in victim blaming, she's just as bad.

I believe she was observant Jewish growing up, but became more religious when she was in college and one of her majors was Hebrew studies.

Clothing cannot be slutty. What actually happens is you don’t like the way a woman is dressed and then deem her a slut or accuse her of being slutty by virtue of how she is dressed. I know you mean well but your attitude and the fact that you would even say that clothing is slutty is part of the problem. Instead of saying slutty clothes, a better way to phrase it would be clothing has gotten more revealing for example.

It reminds me of the issue with the anchors on Fox News. The guys are completely covered up and the women are showing a ton of skin. It just seems completely unbalanced.

IIRC, Mayim only had minor friction on What Not To Wear when she kept having to remind the hosts she needed tops compatible with breastfeeding.

I'd like to say fashion just seems to be recycling from the 90s and also that girls dress so much cuter and fashionably than we used to when I was in HS, so I don't think there's any specific trend right now gearing towards "slutty". Fashion also seems to be more accepting than before of different body types (I know there's a long way to go). AND let's not forget something that looks sexy on one body type can look totally work-appropriate on another. To stay relevant, basically the only op-ed Blossom needed to write RIGHT NOW was one denouncing sexual harassers and abusers and supporting victims. There was no reason to insert herself and her modesty into this conversation.

Now she's doing a FB Live to ... I guess tell everyone how much they misunderstood her point. Bullshit. She said some SERIOUSLY SHITTY stuff. She needs to step back and look within, instead of continuing to beat this drum. Sad.
