Once again, she opens her mouth and garbage falls out. At least she's consistent.

Yeah, I have serious trouble with the whole modesty thing because it IS a way to control and shame women (as Blossom kindly showed us this week). Also I think it's serious slippery slope territory.

Mayim needs to STFU.
There was a time where merely showing your ankle was seen as scandalous. Elsewhere it is your nape that is seen as sensuous, or your bare shoulders. Or in some very religious parts of the world, just the womanly form is deemed as too much. You can wear a full burqa, and the religious police can still find something to fault you with being too 'revealing', nor will it prevent any sexual violence.
So STFU, seriously STFU Mayim, this has absolutely nothing to do with how a woman dresses, it is all about the male powerplay in society. And she seriously needs to get back to school to learn what feminism means, because it sure ain't saying "She was asking for it. She's complicit, as she was doing A, B, and/or C."
Yeah, good for you for not having the same nasty experiences as other women in Hollywood, it does not make you a better person by default. So sit down, and STFU.

I listened to her Facebook Live. She didn't have to answer any probing questions about the implications of what she wrote. It was mostly an opportunity for her to say that she wasn't victim blaming or implying that dressing modestly is better because she's one of those who thinks it only matters what she *meant* and if you don't like what she meant it's because you misunderstood what she meant.

Exactly. Was Elizabeth Smart asking for it when she was in her HOME wearing PAJAMAS when she was kidnapped and then raped for 9 months?
Bialik can get bent.

Exactly. Was Elizabeth Smart asking for it when she was in her HOME wearing PAJAMAS when she was kidnapped and then raped for 9 months? Bialik can get bent. Abso@#$%^&*lutely. We're attacked because we're hot and asking for it, we're attacked because we're ugly and lucky to get some. Every style of dress is an invitation, from putting it out for the taking to being a tease. Guess what? There is not one thing that a woman can wear that will protect her from assault and harassment, because it isn't about HER. It's about the attacker, and a culture that hates woman. I see no hope for Mayim unless she gets a ton of therapy followed by a very serious course of academic work in Women's Studies.

EXACTLY. Of all the things on youtube, one of the best is all the videos of Saudi women fighting backagainst so-called "religious police", who harass them relentlessly, despite many of them wearing abayas and niqabs. My favourite sound in the world (next to the sound of Gord Downie's voice) is a Saudi woman shouting "stop staring at us!!"
