I don't know too much about her music, but she can sing without auto-tune and I think she's pretty kick-ass from a feminism standpoint. She takes down interviewers left and right for misogynistic questions and comments, which for someone her age is a breath of fresh air.
RIP to those affected last night, and peace to those that survived. This won't be an easy road for anyone going forward, if thoughts are centered around her as a celeb then so be it.
I don't have as much hate towards celeb culture nowadays, since we can all pay attention to politics when appropriate. And she has talent. This is all just depressing.

No, you're right, it probably would cause an issue, because tweeting is now the way it's done. I just personally find it .. too informal. I think it's seen as informal because of its relative curtness. But news often breaks on Twitter, and it's definitely an accepted mode of communication now, as our own President can acknowledge. People in Manchester were offering their homes and beds to anyone stranded there after the bombing via Twitter. It's a handy way of communication, especially when cell phone tower communication is unreliable in a time of chaos like that. I remember communicating with a Boston Marathon runner via Facebook message when he couldn't get in touch with his own family over the phone after that bombing. Relevant to topic: Seems to me like the appropriate channel considering her young audience. Obviously none of this is her fault but she must just feel awful.

It's like that Seinfeld episode where they're upset that they're getting a condolence call from someone on a cell phone walking down the street. And I wasn't really snarking on her about the heart emoji - I was actually thankful that it was words-based. I could see tweeting an emoji in response to a mass killing becoming acceptable, though... Sorry, I didn't mean that comment 100% at you. I totally get it!

I would say like anyone within that Arena last night she is probably in a state of shock, anyone would do well to make any sense in that aftermath, never mind remembering capitals or grammer. I don't know enough about her but I'm not going to be snarky today. I leave that for some other time. If we can't be snarky about Ariana Grande, the terrorists truly have won. BTW, I would like to add that I am a Tower 2 evacuee, so I'm not completely oblivious to what people must be going through. I realize saying the terrorists win is a jokey phrase, so accept my apology for being serious for a moment. The terrorists win when we lose sight of the fact that the vast majority of people in this world are good and deserve the benefit of the doubt when it comes to their reaction to, and feelings about, tragic events, up to and including Ariana Grande.

What she said. As an almost 40 year old woman, I am WAY out of Ariana Grande's demographic (but damn if I don't love her music to run with) but I think she's probably struggling to find a BIGGER way to acknowledge or accept what happened at her show. Hell, she may even feel horribly guilty about it. I think the tweet was appropriate, and probably something bigger will come out soon too.

But if she didn't tweet, then I think that would cause drama too. I dunno, Ariana's usually on my bitch eating crackers list but I have absolutely no idea how I'd handle any of this if I were in her shoes. I personally can't snark at this point. I can't snark on her either at this point. She didn't deserve to have this happen at her concert. (I'm not saying that anyone had implied this by the way.) I can imagine she may be wondering, "Why me?"

Its understandable that she hasn't had much of a public reaction. What do you even say? It's one thing to give a statement on a rumor about some guy she is dating or some other fluff, but I can't imagine her PR team has ever thought of a scenario like this.
She probably tweeted on her own out of shock, and her team is trying to come up with something respectful. Which is hard, because she will get criticized no matter what she says/does.
I know nothing about her except she is pretty young herself. I hope she has supportive people around her.

Her name will be associated with this awful event forever.

This has zero to do with the tragedy, but (old person question): her fans are called "Arianators" ? I just read yesterday that Selena Gomez's fans are called "Selenators" I don't get where that comes from. I think I would stump for "Arianolas". OT: After reading an article in Vogue, I still have no idea why Selena Gomez is at the fame level she's at. I am almost 45, so this could be why I don't understand.

I am almost 45, so this could be why I don't understand. This applies to a lot of things going on around me. *Waves cane*
