I believe.... the show is an animated version of the podcast.

. Do they walk through a door with coffee cups there is a red light over the door indicating a radio studio, then sit had a round table Rucky introduces them and eventually read Karl's diary? and questions people have e-mailed Karl? so what time period is it? Recent? I just spent some time on youtube and watched one of just Ricky laughing or a 10 year period which had me laughing till I cried....needed that.

This video, cajazzy? Ricky's laugh is one of my favorite sounds in the world.

No one has mentioned Ricky's show that has been on HBO with Ricky,Carl and Steve. It starts with the three of them coming in a door sitting at a table then they are animated talking in real time and they just let Carl do his magic? I love it most of all. It was on before Idiots Abroad so I was already in love with Carl. It is not what you guys are referring to as the podcast is it? I used to watch The Office on BBC (was it called that?). I will keep watching reruns till they return, can not come soon enough for me. added: Ricky, Louie CK who I love, Chris Rock and Jerry Seinfeld will have what might be a series on HBO called "Talking Funny" Good stuff youtube of Ricky just laughing is worth it, They are the podcasts- they animated them later for the HBO show. I don't know if they mixed them up, or if they are animated verbatim, though.

Thanks regarding the podcasts. Yep that is the youtube that had me in tears. I enjoy watching people loose it while trying to work becasue we have all been there with milk coming out of our noses in an effort not to laugh. Or being so tired everything is funny. Next to hearing a baby giggle that laugh is pretty a darn good second place.

OMG thank you guys for sending me to youtube. His laugh is outrageous--like he really does think what he's saying is funny EVERY TIME. I'm on the office bloopers now. Even in its heyday, the US version could never stand up to the Brit original.

The HBO show is verbatim from the podcasts (although they do cut breaks into it). They started doing them in 2005, I think. Those podcasts are insanely funny. That and Karl Pilkington has seriously been one of the bright points in my life in the last 5 years.

This is more of a Karl question for those in the know: I'm catching up with The Ricky Gervais show via the DVDs, and I was wondering about Monkey News - is that stuff Karl is actually digging up from some crazy corner of the internet, or does he make them up?
I'm currently cracking up at the promos for the encore airing of An Idiot Aboard on the Science Channel where Stephen and Ricky are explaining to Karl that the show was the highest rated series ever for the Science Channel, and he's just staring at them like they are speaking martian or something.

Are you watching the animated series? And if you are interested then older podcasts and XFM-radio shows are also very funny.. Easiest way to get the collected XFM-series is from a swedish torrent site.. All sorts of info is written in Pilkipedia.. And perhaps Karl really is special

I truly believe he found Monkey News on the internet and took items verbatim as truth. I blame "An Idiot Abroad" for making me get the highest available package on Dish because that was the only one that had the Science channel (shaking fist at Gervais!).
