Saw it last night and LOVED it, I went to the IMAX viewing and while not packed, it was pretty crowded. I think there'll be a sequel, however, I don't know if I want it on a higher budget. What they did with the budget cuts? Was so hilarious and creative (the fact that he kept forgetting his Hello Kitty ammo bag) that I'm curious to see what they could come up with. I mean just the side jokes of poor Dopinder and his romantic rivalry was hilarious.
That said, this is a HARD R rated film. Like VERY R (Hello Little Ryan Reynolds) and there were a few small children in the theater, who did not respond well to the violence (the guy slamming into the road sign for example).

I haven't seen it yet, but will this week. I'm so happy to see the good reviews and the box office tally.
On a side note, I really wish that movie theaters had a no exceptions policy to no one under 13 allowed in an R-rated movie even with a parent or guardian. What in the hell were small children doing at a showing of Deadpool? Jesus.

For me, the song 'Careless Whisper' has played in my head non-stop for the last week.

Finally saw it. It was indeed awesome. I wish that I'd been less spoiled. I saw too many trailers, and tv spots for it, so there were hardly any surprises. The more unaware you are, the better the experience. That being said, I loved the structure of the film, and that it was told in flashback. I wanted even more 4th wall breaking. I thought everyone did an great job--there were no weak links. I actually almost teared up twice (twice!)--once when he got his cancer results and Vanessa immediately became his advocate, and the second time when he first followed Vanessa on the street when he came back. I also had a lump in my throat during his moments with his friend at the pit of despair. People have been raving about the opening credits, but I thought the closing credits were twice as good! Hysterical. Not to mention the post credit scene/homage to Ferris Bueller. I can't wait for a sequel. I hope they keep the same budget, same team, and same vision. With this kind of success, it has the danger of being ruined by too many chefs next time. On a side note, I was horrified, and majorly pissed off, at the number of children at my screening. I'm a big old prude, so one was too many. I didn't even attempt to hide my disgust, and visibly shook my head at all the adults that paraded children as young as 4 past me. I counted at least 10 kids under 8 at my showing. Absolutely disgusting.

Just saw it. I knew NOTHING going in. Loved it.
Traffic was distracted by the realization that post-trauma faced Deadpool looks just like Ted Danson.
I went down a mental rabbit hole thinking about how Inara obviously loves Mal, and yet the other guy from the pizza place ends up rolling in the hay with her.
My pop culture wiring short circuited....

Deadpool is awesome. I was also horrified by the folk at our 9:00 pm showing with little children! I took 17 year old Starboy, but wouldn't dream of bringing 2.0 to this one. The theater was so crowded that Starboy and I couldn't sit together. I'm just glad I wasn't next to a child.
Starboy and I keep laughing every time we pass the dish washing liquid aisle in the store.

I saw this again with my mom last night and it's still hilarious! There were only about 10 people in the theatre and no kids that I saw. My mom agreed that it is not an appropriate movie for my 10 year old nephew or 8 year old niece. It boggles the mind that some people brought their kids to this.
