The only ones to interpret that as lust were Ruffalo and Whedon. Scarlett didn't see and was confused when she got the script. Even Renner was...I was confused by Hulk and Black Widow and stuff. Babycakes, sorry you hated it. Thanks. It was just so disappointing. I expected better from Joss. I guess I should have included some of the positive aspects: Rhoadie, Falcon, Captain being a boss, Captain and Thor working in tandem, Nick Fury/Shield coming in to save the day, Vision. But then I think about Black Widow calling herself a monster because she was sterilized, then I get all ragey. UGH. So, disappointed. Yeah, the whole middle section was a hot mess that nearly ruined the movie. I was rolling my eyes while Renner was scenery chewing the random Hawkeye has a secret apple pie and picket fence life scenes but when Black Widow started going all whiney about not being able to have kids and a family and blah blah, I just about walked out of the theater. Vision and Thor's hammer saved the movie from being a disaster. I was about to fall asleep and then that happened and the rest of the movie after that was tolerable.

Was sick this past weekend so we are hoping to see Saturday, I am now slightly intrigued to watch this movie.

I liked it. The Bruce Nat thing seemed rush. It would have made more sense for her to hook up with Cap tbh.

I liked but didn't love it. Found myself dozing through the 1st 30 minutes. Too much obvious CGI during action sequences. I hate Tony Stark & am not feeling great about RDJ with his recent interviews.
OTOH, the Vision! Bettany in the flesh, finally! I also interpreted the Hawkeye family scenes as a way of getting around/subbing a stand-alone movie (which he doesn't need). What's in his arrows that makes him useful anyway?
The twins were weird. Apparently there's incest hinted at in the comics, I could only focus on their accents & confusion from not knowing WTH Scarlet Witch's powers were.
Spader really does have a distinctive voice, points for casting there. I liked Banner's torment, mostly as I'm a fan of Ruffalo's and it was a chance for legitimate acting in a movie of one-liners. I didn't read much romance into any of these films, simply b/c where's the time? Glad to see a number of black men onscreen (4!) and Cap is cute, as always. (Snickered when he pulled at the hammer a lil bit.)
This was not worth $14, but I wasn't up in time for the 10 am, $10 matinee (thanks NY prices!).

Yeah, I concur. It was okay, but nothing special. I was dozing in and out of the whole thing (but then, I was up early for the $10.50 Los Angeles discount prices.)
Nothing really stood out. The chemistry is there, but eh. And "hey big guy" just did NOT sound right at all.
The Captain America movies have, IMO, definitely been the high mark of the Marvel series.

So...I watched this again tonight through other means, and my personal edit made this movie so much better and tighter. I skipped most of the BruceNat stuff, most of the party, except for the dick measuring contest with Moljinor, and a good portion of the Barton family storyline. None of it was missed. None. I liked it more the second time around. And...on another note, I live in Atlanta and they are building sets for Civil War. I took pics today and it hit me while I was watching the movie that my set is Wakanda. Squee!

Damn...Joss deleted his twitter. At first, he was just blocking folks, but now he's up and left the Twitterverse. Damn. Talk about thin-skinned. I don't find twitter (or attacking people on twitter) a particularly useful means of communication, but frankly, for a guy who claims to be a master of female characters and then wrote that Black Widow storyline while allowing Twitter as direct communication with him...well...what did he think was going to happen? I kind of don't want a Black Widow movie anymore. Thanks for that, Joss.

I just saw it, thought it was good, a little long though. Really liked seeing Star Wars and Jurassic World trailers as well.
