I do agree GG, after only seeing it once. If only because the acting was soooo good

Ugh, don't even mention "The Phantom Menace," what drek, but not as bad as "Attack of the Clones" I think that was the one when Emo Annikin screams, "I AM IN AGONY," and the whole theater burst out laughing.
I do have ONE issue with the film, and it's not the film's fault but Disney's. THE FUCKING TRAILERS at the beginning, I thought they'd NEVER end. And the last one, for "Zootopia" went two and a half minutes, but if you see the trailer, it feels like ten minutes. I'm not even going to post a link here because I detested it THAT much.

Lord help me, so did I. Although I kept waiting for him to yell, "Hannah!"
I really enjoyed it. Honestly, I could have done with less of the olds. It was nice to see them, but I kept wanting them to stop running and to just sit down and rest.
I really liked all the new characters. Loved the gender & race flip with Rey and Finn. Nice touch, JJ.

I haven't seen it yet, and might not get to until the new year. But I've glimpsed spoilers in places I thought were safe. Case in point: I frequent the Foobiverse blog, which makes fun of the comic strip For Better or For Worse. (I believe the blog actually grew out of the Fametracker board, which was the predecessor of this one.) The guy who runs it, Paul Jones aka DreadedCandiru2, likes a lot of sci-fi programs and makes comparisons to them in thread-conversation (especially Doctor Who). But in a recent thread over the weekend, he blithely made a reference to "the late [NAME OF CHARACTER], not especially lamented by [NAME OF ACTOR]" when the conversation turned to a Star Wars comparison. I chided him (as gently as possible) that there were people like myself who hadn't seen it yet, and might not get to for a while, and asked him to please not be THAT fan. He hasn't responded for good or ill, but I hope he's taken it to heart. (It happened a couple weeks ago, too. He made a reference to how "thinking you're a space detective just because you hang out with an aging Glaswegian punk rocker in a blue box will only lead to Spoiler spending eternity with an amnesiac Viking girl trapped in your last heartbeat." This was after the Doctor Who season finale had aired in Canada where he lives, but hours before it had aired in America. I replied that I hoped that wasn't a spoiler as I'd been trying to avoid them, but his only answer was, "If I'd posted a spoiler, it would have been about Spoiler the Tardis diner and how it meant that apparently Clara and Ashildr had been messing with the Doctor since Lake Silencio." )

That sucks. Can't people just use cryptic language for a few weeks? Damn.

I really enjoyed it, and I am more of a Harrison Ford fan than Star Wars. Spoiler And as a Harrison Ford fan, it struck me first that he has a son in real life named Ben, and I thought it strange that they should use the name in the film, since he kills his father. It didn't occur to me until I got home that the name was for Obi Wan!
I didn't like the actor they chose as Ben. I think they should have gone with the someone like the kid who played a young Harrison in the Age of Adelaide

Went to see it today. My sister and I have agreed that Adam Driver is what the child of a Severus Snape and Josh Groban pairing would like.

For Canadian Greecies.
When Kylo Ren took off his helmet for the first time, my younger son leaned over and said, "Nice hair, though." Which has led us to reinvent the entire commercial. "Being a Sith lord is not an entry position." "He's searching for a droid. Is that the biggest problem the First Order has right now?"
