I feel bad for the lead actor. Sounds like he was miscast, received zero direction, basically was asked to mimic Harrison Ford (who can even do this?!), and then had to get an acting coach!
Also, Ron Howard sounds like a great boss: a confident professional who KNOWS what needs to be done and can get everyone's butt in gear toward the same goal. If only we all had bosses like this!

Someone's going to write a tell-all book about this someday, and I look forward to reading it.

Yeah, me too. Although to be honest, I think anyone assigned the task to mimic Harrison Ford was screwed. HF doesn't have the career he has enjoyed because he's one of the world's best actors. He's got it because he's got buckets of natural charisma. Not a lot of people have that (if they did, HF wouldn't be so special), and it's hard to recreate. It at least sounds like the acting coach helped him, but I think any actor in that role had an uphill battle.

Exactly. I don't know much about the actor playing Han Solo but I can't think of any actor who could successfully replicate exactly what Harrison Ford did. It was a losing battle to start with. Another reason they should've gone with a Lando movie IMO.
Weirdly, in the new trilogy I think both John Boyega (especially in The Force Awakens) and Oscar Isaac have at times done a good job of channeling the "charismatic rogue" thing, although of course neither was constrained by trying to play the younger version of one of the most iconic characters in pop culture. I think creating new characters who carry on aspects of Solo was really the only way to successfully reincarnate the character. It's like, you did that already. The Solo movie isn't necessary. But I'm happy to be proven wrong if this movie turns out to be good.

I'm watching the Indy movies on Hulu right now and I would watch Harrison Ford read to a tree. His character is a shithead but he's so DREAMY! He is so much fun to watch even now. He's definitely a hard act to follow.

I saw The Last Jedi in the theatre but some deleted scenes I saw on the internet (and I'm guessing they're on the DVD) would've REALLY helped A LOT with what was up with Luke.

I don’t know who it was, but it’s really messing up my freaking drive home. I like the new Hans but Harrison is untouchable to me. They should have just let this movie be just an idea.

We saw the Han Solo movie today. Lots of action and lots of fun to watch. Nothing complicated and quite frankly, we enjoyed it more than the Last Jedi.

I enjoyed it too, everything with Chewbacca was awesome and Alden whatshisname actually wasn’t bad. Some parts of the plot were a bit predictable but I think that’s always the case with prequel-ish movies when you already know which characters will still be alive at the end.
