I know it sort of bombed at the box office this weekend but there is nothing wrong with the movie, just released in the wrong month, a December date would have been better.

It was fun and you didn't have to think too much. Maybe my expectations were low. I also thought the guy playing Han did a good job.

I enjoyed it, too. Disney needs to pump the brakes on their money grubbing train and leave bigger time gaps between SW movie releases. And make sure they need to be made in the first place. I have a few nitpicks with Solo but I rather enjoyed it and found myself smiling a lot throughout. None of the actors seemed weak, and Alden E. did well without trying to do an impression. I especially appreciated Han's last scene with Beckett, because in A New Hope HAN SHOT FIRST.

Despite this being the first SW movie without C-3PO and R2-D2, they still managed to squeeze Anthony Daniels in for a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo (he’s one of the escaping slaves on Kessel) thus keeping his record of being the only actor to appear in all of the SW movies in some capacity intact. I thought that was pretty cool.

It definitely exceeded my expectations. The actor playing Han grew on me, but he will never compare to Harrison Ford’s Han. All of the Chewie/Han stuff was great and I also enjoyed Lando.

I liked it too, much better than Rogue One. Everybody I know who has seen it liked it, so I am surprised by the low box office. Hopefully the word of mouth recommendations will help it pick up.

I don't mean to sound like a whiny fan, but I have to say that the more I think about The Last Jedi the more I really don't like it, and that affected my enthusiasm for Solo. I'm more excited for Ocean's 8 frankly. It makes me feel bad for Ron Howard since by accounts he salvaged something likable out of a fairly disastrous production. I hope he got paid a lot.

I really enjoyed it too. But I also enjoyed The Last Jedi a TON, so I was excited to get more Star Wars after that film. When Solo was announced, however, I sort of groaned. Who asked for this? I think Lucasfilm/ Disney needs to read the writing on the wall regarding exploring narratives that don't center on a white guy for a time. If they had done Lando: A Star Wars Story, I think that would have made BANK. I can't figure out if they are actually doing an Obi-Wan movie and a Boba Fett movie, or if it's just rumors. In the wake of Solo, they may be reconsidering. I'd be more excited about the Obi-Wan movie than Boba Fett for sure, but that's just because I love Ewan McGregor. But it seems like these stand alone movies are a way to appeal to established Star Wars fans rather than attract new viewers. Spoilers... Spoiler How about an Enfys Nest movie though!!! Loved her, didn't get enough of her. I also loved Val and L3. Pissed they were fridged, although I guess a good number of characters bit it in Solo.

Boba Fett appeared as a child in one of the prequels and was portrayed by a New Zealander of Maori descent, as was the character he was cloned from. So it’s already film canon that he’s not white. I could see a stand-alone movie of him being well-received if it’s done right. Personally I’ve never understood the fascination with the character so I’d much prefer a Lando movie.

You are right, of course. I guess the mask is the first thing I think of.
